Hi! My name is Kerri and we lost our little baby last week. I had to have a d & c the day before Thanksgiving. My doctor gave me the okay after one full cycle to try again and that will be soon, but I'm nervous. This was my second miscarriage and he said as soon as I get a positive test to come in for blood work and he may put me on progesterone. Is there anything else that I can do or take to help make this one stick?

Welcome Kerri. I'm sorry for your loss. There are so many reasons for a m/c so it's hard to give advice on how to prevent another one. Definitely see your Doc. ASAP when you get your BFP.

Welcome Kerri! I am so sorry for your loss. If the doctor does the early blood work and finds that your progesterone is low, supplementing it will definitely help. My sister had 3 m/c and when they added progesterone she had four successful pregnancies! I hope your outcome is just as good. Did they do any additional genetic testing after the D&C? Many times they find out a lot from having those tests done too.

My doctor recommended taking vitamins and folic acid daily. You'll be TTC before you know it. And, I hope your wait for your BFP is a short one! KUP!

If you need people to lean on, the ladies on this board are awesome! I've only been here a short time, but, they are really wonderful! Welcome again.

Kelty

Hi Kerri,

I too am in the same position as you. I have had two miscarriages. My doctor told me to continue taking my prenatal vitamins and when I get pregnant the next time he is going to start monitoring me weekly right away. So hopefully getting tested early will help both of us out.

I am soo sorry to hear of your loss. Welcome to this wonderful board. I am taking 1000mcg of folic acid daily. That is what my midwife recommended. I get part of that from a prenatal vitamin. I hope it is a quick journey for you. Good luck.

Here's what I did with my oldest I was on pre-natal Vitamins 3 months before conception and as soon as I had a BFP I went in for my blood work and was put on progesterone.
Warning: Progesterone doesn't always prevent a loss.

I'm so sorry for you losses, it does get easier with time.
