I realized if I kept my appointment on Monday afternoon, I wouldn't make it back home in time for the bus. So, I called the doctor's office trying to get the appointment moved up. They were able to, thankfully. Then I asked if she could put my mind at ease. She said that my beta levels were still "too high". I asked what they were. The doctor originally told me my second blood draw was 12. Apparently, she was wrong.
The first one was 26, the second one was 18 and the third one was 15. The nurse said it had to get back down to under 2. Then she said "you already know about the folic acid deficiency"... something about an enzyme mt...??? I didn't KNOW about this. The doctor put me on Folic Acid and Baby Asprin just in case I got pregnant before the test results came back. So, I guess I need the extra Folic Acid. She has me taking 3mg a day! Then the nurse told me that there were some other things, but she was not allowed to discuss them. The doctor is the one who has to tell me and explain it all. OOOOOOOOOOOOOK. I did say something like "is there anything life threatening" and she said if there was I would have been seen right away.
So, I guess I got a couple answers, except now I have more questions. The doctor said they usually recommend waiting to TTC for 1 cycle, but she said they only recommend that because it's easier to figure out when conception happened. I believe I ovulated about a week ago. If I go in Monday and I am pregnant, my beta might be 10 or 12 or even higher... how will they know if it's something left from the miscarriage or a new baby?? I guess they just keep repeating the blood work. UGH! Then I worry... what if it's both? Could there be something left in there and a new baby and would that cause the new baby harm?
Thanks for listening to me ramble.
