Well I started bleeding yesterday and my DR told me I will have to get AF again before we can TTC again He said that I would have an increased risk of M/C because my uterine lining would not be shed properly until I get AF. I see alot of you who say it is ok to get pregnant after a natural M/C. So I am just confused now Could it be because I was on a prgesterone supplement??
Any answers or advice would be welcomed!!!!

Hi Joanne. Most doctors want you to wait a full cycle before TTC'ing for your uterine lining to build up and so they can properly date the pregnancy (assuming you get your BFP right away). A couple of ladies here got pg after a m/c and before AF.

I got my first AF 23 days after my m/c and got straight into regular cycles again.

Good luck and once again, on your loss.

I have been told that you can start trying right away after a natural miscarriage, Your linning does not thin out that much .. Unless you have a D\C then you need to wait a full cycle..... That is because the scarp your uterus really thin to make sure they get everything.

I had a miscarriage in September of 2006 and Got pregnant right away in October. We really we not trying it just happend. The bleeding that happens when you have a miscarriage you can count that as your first day of your cycle....

Every doctor is different this is just what mine has told me

Sorry that you are having to go through this .

hi Joanne, i've been thinking about you. hope you're doing as well as can be expected. when i had both of my m/c's the dr. told me the same thing. that you need to wait one full cycle. my dr. gave me multiple reasons that all made sense to me. it was hard to wait a cycle, but i felt that I didn't want to m/c again and feel it was because of something i could have done differently. so i waited. i know lots of women who didn't. i also felt like i had a very good relationship with my dr. and if I went against what she told me, that it would appear as if I didn't trust what she was telling me. I think you have to use your own judgement here girl. G/L and if you need anything, please let me know!!!

If your doc thinks you should wait a cycle, then maybe you should do that. Of course, you can get PG before AF returns, because, at some point you will O. But, your OB knows what he/she thinks that is best for you. There are cases where they say "Go ahead" before AF has returned. There are cases, like myself, where they say "wait until your iron count is in the normal range". It is truly one of those individual things. There are also cases after a D&C where they say to wait at least two cycles. I don't know the right answer for you, but, find a doc that you can trust and go with it. I hope you get your sticky bean soon! GL and KUP!

You can always call the doctor and ask, "why is it best for me to wait a cycle?" At least this way you know that it is for a good reason and you don't feel like another cruel joke is being played on you.

Hello & Welcome, Joanne.

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss!!!!

Most doctors will tell you to wait until you do get AF to begin trying, just for that reason alone - to make sure your lining can hold the baby. It's also recommended to wait for dating purposes.

Good luck!!!!

welcome and I'm sorry for your loss.

I had a pill induced labor with a delivery and they told me to wait to get pregnant until January or February. Just for my lining and the right of mind. It seemed like forever, but we tried directly after the loss and no luck. I had my af 26 days after my loss. I hope everything gets back to normal for you quickly.
