I was punched in the stomach by a grown man

Im a lab tech in a hospital and sun morning I was doing my rounds, as i was looking for a patients vein in his arm He punched me in the stomach. He was a very hateful man ( i had drawn him the day before) but I had no reason to think that he would be violent and for no reason I hadnt even gotten a needle out yet i was only looking, after hitting me he swung at the two other nurses that came in as I yelled. This man didnt have any mental issues nor was he medicated. I just cant believe that this happened we tried for 19 months to get pregnant and finally after infertility we got pg and for this to happen. they checked the babies heartbeat every two hrs yesterday but today around noon i tried for an hr to find it and couldnt so i got up and moved around and im pretty confident that i did find it after that, the dr want to see my tomorrow at 9 regardless they couldnt fit me in today. ugu i cant loose my baby

My dr appt went great he said the same as you ladies that the baby is very well protected and he feels im just fine, got to hear the heartbeat althought the baby wouldnt stay still enough for him to get a count but he said it was strong! thanks for your support. and as for the man, i wasnt given the option to call and report him. there was an incident report filed through the hospital but thats it I asked about the police and they were very negative about it, I guess im afraid to rock the boat to much

Wow! Thats crazy. I hope everything is ok. I'm sure it will be.

YIKES! What a JERK!!!!! I am soooo sorry he did that to you.

I hope you file some kind of assault charge against him......that is just inexcusable !!!!!

Oh my goodness! I hope your baby is ok. Did the lab where you work take any action against this man (ie: calling the police or something like that)

with my first pregnancy, i totally fell down a HUGE flight of stairs. I was convinced I hurt the baby. I immediately called the dr. and she told me that the little bean was VERY well protected inside the sac and it would be really really unusual for it to hurt the baby. so don't worry, you're just fine!!!!

OMG! I hope he goes to jail! (you are pressing charges, right?)

And like Lynda said- your baby should be safe and sound inside you. Fluid and your body take the brunt of anything that could happen.

The uterus is a big giant muscle, the baby is surrounded by fluid... Your little bean just was in a roller coaster ride. Baby bean should be ok... but hey, more reasons to check on baby bean is a good thing. Oh and maybe they need to have that man be psych evaluated. Not cool, not cool.

with my frst daughter i was accidently punched in the stomace at work. and she was fine.the baby is well protected.
im sure your baby is fine too. but that guys an a@! i would charge him or somehting

I can understand your fears, I would be freaking out. But like the other girls said, I'm pretty sure that baby is ok.
On another note, when I was about two I kicked my pregnant aunt in the stomach, my cousin came out just fine (we all dislike him, but that's another story).
Oh yeah, and I would go back to that guy and take some blood or something and really hurt him.

And how were they negative about contacting the police? I say if the guy wasn't off his rocker and was just being an a-hole, then you should be able to file if you want. What if he would've done real harm? he shouldn't be able to get away with just punching people, especially females. I am just glad everything is ok, though. Thank goodness!!!
