So I have a friend at work who is about to start IVF. We were chatting today and I mentioned that we are considering TTC again. She offered me her CBE ovulation kits. I'm excited. I've never used these before. I've just tried to DTD when I thought I was o'ing based on CM, my cycle and MMC. She's bringing them Monday and according to MMC, my O day should be around next Thursday. I'm excited to try them. Anybody use these? How does it work? I just POAS and it will tell me if I'm O'ing? I'm sure there will be intructions, just curious as to who uses them and whether or not you like them. Thanks!
**UPDATE**
So, my friend brought me the CBE stuff. It's the whole monitoring system with like 60 sticks! Wow, I had no idea. She mentioned that you have to start when your cycle starts. I have yet to read the instructions but does anyone know if I can start mid-cycle? I'm about CD11 and should O end of week sometime. If not, we'll wing it this month and try it next month I guess. Hey hopefully I won't need it next month LOL. Although, I'm not sure what to expect. I got pregnant with Lindsay on the first try without any kind of charting or anything. The next time it took 3 months. This is our second non-consecutive month TTC since our loss in August so who knows what will happen. I've already cut the caffeine, I've been taking pre-natals for years and I told DH to wear his boxers haha. Wish us luck!

Oh no, I hope it's the smiley face ones! I'm terrible with the others too. I always buy the CBE pregnancy tests with the 'pregnant' or 'not pregnant' just for that reason LOL.

They should come with instructions, assuming she still has them if it's an open box. But they're easy to do! But I'd need to know how many and what kind (midstream or dipsticks) to give more information.
But basically midstreams you pee on (LOL That sounds funny) like an FRER. You'll have a control line like a pregnancy test, the main difference is that the test line needs to be as dark as or darker than the control line to be positive.
Depending when you get them, how many there are, and where you are in your cycle will depend when to start them. Before my losses I O'd on CD 18 or so so I'd start about CD14 just to be on the same side in case I O'd early. As you get closer to a positive, you will likely see a progression. The test line will get darker and darker until it gets positive.
Once you get a +OPK you should O in 12-36 hours.
Some tests say not to use FMU, some say use any. Again, if they don't have directions I'm sure you can find the directions online.
Did I miss anything? Aside from good luck??

I went to go buy opk's today and I looked for the smiley face ones and Walmart didn't have them. I really hate these line ones, I hope they are the smiley face ones for your sake! Good luck!

really? I love the lines... I find I've always had really good results (with IC ones)
you should do OPKs in the afternoon (my DR says 1-4), at the same time everyday. When you get a line darker then the control you'll probably O w/in 12-48 hrs.
good luck! I'm glad you're trying!

Thanks everyone! She said you pee on them, so I know that haha. She said she had a bunch left too and she's bringing all of them. Thanks for the suggestions. More to come next week on this topic hehe.

Good luck! I just finished my first cycle temping and using OPKs. I feel like I have a better idea what my body did this past cycle, now, looking back at it. There were times during the month that I had NO idea what my body was doing! Do you temp? If not, are you going to? Just wondering. I hope everything goes really well and that shortly after seeing a positive on the opk you see a positive on the HPT! KUP

So, I don't temp or anything like that. We change our minds so much that the months we do TTC is more like "I think I'm o'ing now or in the next couple days so let's try it". Really that's it. We did it that way last year and on our 3rd month of actually trying we got pregnant. When my friend offered me these I just thought, hey they're free why not try them.

all CBE products are really good in my opinion. the smiley's are nice and their ones with two lines are really really easy to read. they have always picked up my surge. G/L

Good luck! I much prefer the digis as there is no mistaking a +. I find the others too open to interpretation. If nothing else, you get to POAS.

I like HPTs so much, that I am not willing to try OPTs! I got a few on clearence at a CVS on time and tried them. I still don't know if I got a pos or not. I wish you luck. And if you catch on and can explain them VERY simply, pass it on Good luck

UPDATE in post #1. More to come, yay! Since we definitely decided to for sure TTC again, I feel a huge knot that was in between my shoulder blades dissolve away. So weird how that happens.

How exciting!! I don't know anything about the CBEFM except I've always heard good things from those who use it. If I remember correctly, you have to reset it though, to delete her stats. Unless she already did. But hopefully someone else can help you more!
