Can anyone here please recommend a good book? My SIL and I along with another woman have decided to form a book club. We read one book a month than get together for food and to discuss it. This month our book is 'The boy in the striped pajamas'. Which i still haven't read! I have 2 different libraries trying to find the book for me. We're getting together on 2/7 so i hope they find it for me before then.

Any way I have to chose next month (feb) book. SIL chose this month's. Here's what we need. We are all Christian woman so we want a good clean book. No explicit sexual details and Little to no swearing (preferably none).

I just remembered a good book I read, especially if you have any interest in understanding high-functioning autism. Pretty interesting. It is called
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon

Interesting, but sometimes hard to read and grasp. I can't remember if there is cursing, but if so it is minor.

That was a really good book! I loved it. I don't remember cursing in it either, maybe very minor, but nothing awful. I don't really have any suggestions, because I don't mind swearing or adult situations and I have a terrible memory so I would hate to suggest something that may have either.

What an awesome idea!! I don't have any suggestions though...I've been really into chic lit and that's probably not what you're looking for. Have fun though!

Oh another good series is The #1 Ladies Detective Agency. It's about Precious Ramotswe and her founding of a Detective Agency in Botswana. Keep in mind, this character has had a m/c following a domestic abuse incident, and it goes into details of her pain in the first book. In subsequent books she remembers her little baby. But it's pretty entertaining and interesting. Very good look into social interactions and the life in Botswana.

Other books I might recommend might not be suitable, Fantasy, Sci Fi, or have questionable language or actions in parts.

I might have to check that book out just for myself. My 7 year old daughter has high functioning autism.

Oh my 9 year old Step daughter has Asperger's. It's very enlightening. Actually it's way beyond her, but some of the things is pretty neat.
