Hello,

I am dropping in from my primary home ttcma with a question. I had a chemical pregnancy my last cylce and started bleeding last Saturday night/Sunday morning. A few times this week I thought the bleeding was over but then when I wipe there is still bright red blood. Also, I am having cramping as if my period is starting. When I called my RE I was told to take another Beta tomorrow. I am wondering if this will effect future AF or ttc attempts?

Please let me know if you have some knowledge about Chemical Pregnancies...

I'm sorry I don't know a lot about chemical pgs. I just want you to know that I'm sooo sorry for your loss! My best guess is that your body isn't back to normal yet. Once it normalizes, ttc shouldn't be a problem. Have you called your OB? If the bleeding is significant or if you're worried, give your doc a call. KUP I'd like to know how you're doing. I hope someone can answer your questions better. Take care...

Thank you for your reply...I did get in contact with my RE and I have to have another Beta tomorrow. If my levels are not low then I will be prescribed something for it...but I am really concerned about my future ttc health

How do you know it was a chemical? Did you have falling Beta's or are you just going off the bleeding?

I’m so sorry for your loss. I have had 2 chemicals. Both were longer heavier periods with heavier cramping than normal. I hope it goes quickly for you.
According to my RE the chemicals have no effect on my ttc. ( I did have other issues- most likely what caused the chemicals too). Chemicals can be caused my many things, usually they aren't a viable pregnancy to start with. I got the lecture too that if I wasn’t a POAS addict I might not have even known about them.
Good luck and KUP!!

Thanks for the replies. I did not diagnose myself...I see and RE and had numerous Betas done. The highest was 22 9dpiui with a steady decline(13dpiui 7, 16dpiui 4) and my + tests going to negative.

Sam...I got the feeling the RE's office wanted to give me the same lecture but in good taste I think they decided not to. I haven't been much of a POAS addict but that is because I never really have symptoms, until this last cycle, and my AF comes like clock work. I definetly would of known something was going on after ttc for 16 months and no symptoms...I will KUP on the outcome. I'm leaving on my lunch to take another Beta

I'm sorry

I don't really understand the thinking on not taking a test too early. Not knowing doesn't mean the chemical pregnancy didn't happen, kwim? I prefer to know what's going on with my body so that if it continues to happen I can figure out what's going on. My 2 chemical pregnancies are what led me to the testing that diagnosed the APS and MTHFR. If I hadn't known about them who knows how many more I'd have had and how it would take to get a sticky BFP.

I don't know anything about Chemical Pregnancies. I dont' personally know how it affects future pregnancies and the ability to TTC. I do know though that people go on to have a normal H&H 9 months following a chemical. It is one of the "bad" things about testing early. If the pregnancy isn't viable but still tricks your system to thinking it's pregnant, you become happy and hopeful, only to be dashed. But honestly, would any of us want it any other way? One time we will end up bringing our child home.

Just checking in to see how you're doing... Has the bleeding stopped? How was your last Beta? Are you doing OK? Thinking of you!
