I used to be part of the July DDC. I found out a week ago that our baby had no heartbeat, I was 17 weeks. On Friday I had a D&E. Physically, its been fine, the surgery went well. I haven't had any pain and I already stopped bleeding. Excpet for my boobs, they are completely engorged right now.
Mentally, DH and I are doing okay. I know our loss is still so fresh but we are at peace with it. Our Dr is great and is doing all sorts of test for us, genetic test on us and did an amino before removing the baby. We should know a little more at our follow up appt. We are ready to move on from this. I still want that little baby in my arms. We really want to TTC as soon as possible, hopefully by March, if not April. Its scary to think about it, but I don't want to wait.
Any of you experience a 2nd trimester loss? How long did you wait to TTC again?

I am so sorry for your loss. My name is Randie. I did not suffer a 2nd trimester loss, but I know a few of the girls on here have. Not the board I like to say welcome to, but welcome. I hope you find some answers and are able to get that bfp soon.

Hi Sue, I'm so sorry for your loss. I did have a second trimester loss. I was 23 weeks with identical girls and just went into preterm labor. I still don't have any answers, but we are looking into it. We believe it was something to do with the umbilical cords. We lost the girls in November and are TTC now. So, we waited the 3 months, but not intentionally. Technically we are suppose to wait one more month, but I don't want to!!!!

Hi, my name is Heather and on December 17 I found out my little one had no heartbeat- I was also 17 weeks. I was induced and delivered him the same day and later that evening I had a D&C to remove part of the placenta that wouldn't detach. Physically I have very little pain and healed quickly, its the emotions that can kind of sneak up on me sometimes. For the most part I am doing pretty well, but about 6 weeks after his birth I had a really hard few days. It started when I had to go back to my midwife for my 6 week post partum checkup, thankfully my DH was there to help me and distract me. But, I have many more good days than bad. One thing you may want to prepare for is the results of your pathology reports- They could find NOTHING wrong with me or my baby (I also have 2 other children living) and for some reason that hit me pretty hard. I think it may have been easier if they could have found a reason it happened- but NOTHING was harder than I thought it would be.
I am so sorry for your loss, it hits really close to home for me. We have already started TTC again- so maybe we will end up in the same DDC!! If you ever want to talk you can always PM me. Just try to take the bad days as they come, the good days will be there too.

I'm very sorry for you loss, I was 14 weeks along, my baby grew for 13 weeks before it's heart stopped. My doctor told us to wait for 3 months before ttc again, we only waited 1 though - but it didn't matter because we haven't been successful yet.
I hope you when start trying again you get your bfp very quickly!

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies. It sucks that we have to meet like this. I am prepared in case they find nothing wrong but I am also preparing myself in case something is wrong with us. I know they will test again my blood for genetics after all the pregnancy hormones are out so that may make us wait a little longer as well.

I'm sorry for your loss.
I lost a little boy almost 7 months ago at 20 weeks. I had a subchorionic hemorrhage throughout the pregnancy and my placenta abrupted at 19w6d.

I am so sorry for your loss. I am also new to the board. I come from the Sept DDC. I was a 1st trimester loss. We lost our heartbeat on Thurs. I am scheduled for a D/E on Fri. We are also having testing done. DH has been great for support. As it sounds your DH has been for you.
I hope a BFP for you soon after TTC!

I'm so sorry. While I know this isn't where you wanted to be the ladies here are so nice, I hope you'll make yourself at home here and lean on everyone until you can join another DDC! Hugs, Sara

I am sorry for your loss but welcome to the group. I had a second trimester loss almost 2 years ago. Sometimes it still feels like yesterday, but most days I am ok. Our little boy Kai had a severe birth defect, anecephaly (I spelled it wrong I am sure, but basically the top of his head never closed and he had no brain). We had no idea anything was wrong until my water broke.
I am sorry we had to meet this way, but this group is soooo supportive and I hope we can help you through this.

Oh, my heart breaks for you...I'm sooo sorry you've had to go through this. I can't even imagine, nor do I have the right things to say. I will definitely keep you in my prayers, though (MY JM prayer list is very long, but I know God's listening ) I hope you get some answers and that you get your sticky little bean soon! This is one of those clubs that you wish you didn't belong to, but, once you're here you'll be grateful that there are so many wonderful ladies to lean on. Welcome. I hope you're doing OK. KUP about the results and how you're feeling. I can say from experience that this is a great group to vent to when you feel like it

I had a loss at about 24 weeks last March. At first I didn't really know what happened. Not too long ago I got the medical records from the hospital. It seemed that my hbp constricted the flow of blood in the placenta.
In any case, I waited the normal 3 months before half heartedly TTC, but really didn't "try". Then at 9 months, I said I'm ready and got my bfp. I think it was getting the two new doctors that helped me feel at ease. It sounds like you have a good doctor, so I am sure you won't wait nearly as long as I did.

I'm so sorry for your loss! But I wanted to say welcome.
I lost my little boy at 18 weeks and 1 day and physically had him the next day in November. Like Heather, I was diagnosed with placenta abruptio. And the baby had a heart defect we think. We opted out of an autospy. I hope you find answers, that is the best thing.
We waited after 1 period (not intentionally) and then I was pregnant. We started physically TTC'ing 1 week after the birth, because that is what I wanted. If you want to I hope you get a fast BFP!
