I went to the Dr yesterday and they told me that my pregnancy was no longer viable and I got my Rogam shot. I am just wondering when I will start the bleeding from the passing of the baby and how long it will last? Will I be in pain? Here are my numbers
1/22/09-hcg 15, got first positive hpt also had bleeding
1/26/09-Bleeding had stopped hcg 98
1/30/09-Had some bleeding, bright red for 1 day then pink then brown, had ultrasound and it didn't show anything but they said it was to early, hcg level 296
2/2/09 hcg 316, no bleeding and had Rogam shot.

Also what will be period be like when I cycle again and when can we start ttc again? Thank you ladies so much.

Im sorry for your loss, I dont think you will start bleeding until the hcg goes to 0, but Im not sure, sorry. Some docs say to wait 3 cycles before trying again and some say you can try right away. With my first m/c in 2003, I got pg the next cycle but I have had 2 last year and am still trying.

GL and KUP on what you decide

Your ticker says 5w5d, so you're about where I was for my second m/c. I had an u/s at 6 weeks that showed a week behind, and I just knew i was going to m/c so my dr let me go for an hcg and my levels had gone down from the week before. I started to bleed the next day. I had about 3 days of bleeding, and one pretty bad day of cramping. (But I also had a m/c at 10 weeks and it was no where near that level of pain).

My AF after both my D&C and natural m/c were pretty normal. Maybe the first day was a little heavier, but pretty normal I'd say.

Since you were so early, your Dr may say you can TTC once you get AF. Some drs so recommend waiting an additional cycle though.

I'm sorry you're going through this.

I am not quite sure when you will pass. I miscarried naturally and never had any u/s, so I am not sure how long the baby's heart hadn't been beating. I bled for about a week and spotted for a few more days. My body went back to normal pretty quickly, and I actually ovulated just two weeks after the bleeding stopped. I had very bad pains for several hours only one night, it was more than cramps, and much worse. Otherwise it just felt like AF. DH and I have started trying again right away. I had intended to wait a few months, but physically I am fine and I am doing well as can be emotionally, so we saw no reason to wait. I am so sorry for your loss!

I have had 2 m/c - 1 at 6 weeks and 1 at 7 weeks. If you click on my link to my chart below and scroll down, you will see that I passed the baby well before my hcg got to zero because I was still using HPT;s to see. I was already bleeding and cramping heavily while the baby still showed a HB on U/S, so I am not much of a help as far as telling you when you are likely to start bleeding. They never did blood HCG's on me.

I am so very sorry for your loss. The ladies here are WONDERFUL!

I'm so sorry for your loss!! I've had two natural miscarriages but never had u/s with either. I lost both of them between 5 and 6 weeks. I had heavy bleeding for a day and then it was light for a week. My next period came 4 weeks later and was just like normal. Im sorr and good luck!

I went to the midwife and barely had a pos on a pg test. They did hcg and it was down to 20 (I was six weeks). I went home and the bleeding started the next day. The following day was extremely heavy and horrible cramping. Then lite bleeding for 3 days. My period returned 3 weeks later almost normal. The only difference was that it lasted 2 days less. I am so sorry for your loss. Welcome to our wonderful board. Please stick around. BTW, I am Heather, I have 2 dds Gabriella 9yrs and Victoria 6 years. DF is Nelson. We have been ttc since Feb 08 and had our loss in October. Welcome again.

*UPDATE*
My #'s today were 326. I know logically that its over but I can't let go of that little hope. I never imagined that it could hurt this bad. But also part of me wishes the bleeding would just start and I could get over what I know is going to happen.

What is a Rogam Shot? And I am confused as to why your numbers are still going up? I hope some of the other ladies have some help.

I'm so very sorry for your loss!

I hope your bleeding begins soon, so you can heal and begin trying again. My miscarriage happened at 5 weeks 1 day, I didn't know my hCG numbers.

I don't know if this will help, but, any time they don't see the numbers double every two or three days, the pg may no longer be viable. I'm so sorry you have to go through this!

When I had my m/c in October, we found out that the baby had no hb on Oct 11th (i was between 7 and 8 weeks, the baby measured 6-7 weeks). I bled on and off for over two weeks. My actual m/c was Oct 27th. After the m/c and an u/s to make sure all of the tissue had passed, my hcg was still over 1200. It decreases like it increases. It decreases by half every two to three days. Many docs will let you TTC right after your m/c is complete. many recommend waiting one full cycle. Some say three cycles. Depends on what your doc thinks...With a d&C it's different. They recommend at least 3 cycles.

I hope you're doing OK. And, I hope that this info helps. I'm so sorry for your loss. Lots of hugs and prayers heading your way. KUP and let us know how you are doing.

Rogam is the shot when your blood is negative, mine is O-, I don't really know why I need them but all the women in my family get them. When I was pregnant with my DD and DS I got one while I was pregnant and then one after I delivered. It has something to do with the antibodies, that's about all I know.

If your hcg is still going up, are you sure you miscarried? There have been stories with healthy babies and slow rising hcg. There is a good website, I think it is called "my missed miscarriage" (something like that, with "missed miscarriage" in the title), that has tons of stories and info. I don't want to give you false hope, but if your numbers are still rising, how do they know for sure you are miscarrying? If you did indeed miscarry, the numbers would drop for sure.

I miscarried at 6 weeks. No symptoms, I just learned my hcg went from 1000 (which was low for that point) one day, and two days later was 798.

I started bleeding exactly a week later. A normal, heavy period, no cramps. Lasted 6 days. I also took evening primrose oil, which I think helped bring on the bleeding. I was worried it wasn't happening, and didn't want a d/c.

I conceived again 9 days after my m/c...to my surprise! I kept getting positive pregnancy tests, and thought it was from the m/c, but blood tests showed a rapidly rising level. I am now 7 weeks pregnant.

There is no need to wait if you miscarry naturally. Ask your dr, as they all have different opinions on this.

Big hugs, and keep us posted. I know the horrible feeling of waiting for bleeding to start.

They told me I would miscarry but yes my numbers are still gong up but not nearly like they should. I guess I don't really understand what is going on. 6 days ago is when I had the bleeding and nothing since, but they told me I would but they don't know when. The weird thing is I feel more pregnant today then I have up to this point. I'm just scared, confused and angry all at the same time.
