FACT OF THE DAY:
Who invented the first laptop computer?
The Osborne 1 by Adam Osborne was the first commercially available laptop. This laptop was manufactured by, you guessed it, Osborne computers. It had a tiny screen and carried a price tag of approximately a thousand eight hundred dollars. But this was not the first laptop. No, that honour goes to the Xerox NoteTaker. This was developed by Xerox PARC in 1976; concepts of this had been in existence since 1970 however. Finally only ten prototypes of this model were produced. The first successful model of the laptop was Compaq Portable which was introduced in 1983 by Compaq. What is believed to be the first laptop in the truest sense of the word is the GRiD Compass 1101 introduced in 1982. It was used by the military and NASA, primarily due to its high cost it was a great commercial success. It was credited to Bill Moggridge.
THIS HAS BEEN YOUR RANDOM USELESS FACT OF THE DAY! ENJOY IT AS YOU WISH!
