I am on CD10 and on my 3rd day of a fever and sore throat with no end in sight. My doctor ran a bunch of tests and it was negative for flu, strep throat, bladder infection, pregnancy (duh!), and mono. So she wrote me a script for a Z-pak and said I MUST use birth control (condom) if I take it. She said it would stay in my system for 2 weeks.

I dont want to take it! But, I dont want to get sicker either. I can only miss so much work! My deal with myself would be to start the meds Sunday if I am still sick, but then I dont get to do any baby makin this weekend at this critical time in my cycle.

And, if I dont get my BFP this month, we are talking about avoiding for 2 months to avoid a Dec/Jan birthday (too many in this family already). I dont want to wait!

What should I do?

I would check to see if it really does cause any problems with ttc/causing birth defects. Or call back and ask for something that is safe, I know there are antibiotics that are safe when you are pregnant. There are some they give you to help save pregnancies from infections. Was this your regular DR or an OB?

That's a hard choice -- to take or not to take! Maybe see how you are feeling Sunday, and decide then. Gosh, I hate where things like this come about, b/c then it's more waiting
