So DH and I have been patiently waiting on orders because his tour as an instructor is up 1 Jul 09...we FINALLY got word today that in July we will be moving to Offutt AFB in Omaha NE!!!

We are soooo excited...yeah its REALLLLLY cold but its also an atmosphere that NEITHER of us got to grow up in so I think we are just excited as the boys are for SNOW!!

Their schools are GREAT and we are SOOO ready for a change!!

The only downfall is that now my fave doc isn't going to be able to deliver my baby and just like Britt I will be moving in my 3rd tri (we are gonna try to head out on 1 Jul which puts me at 33w5d...)

So...YAY for moving...BOO for the report date...but ah well...Uncle Sam pays my bills...no complaints here

That is so dang exciting Danielle! I am so happy for you! Yes, it's cold, but you'll be moving in summer so you'll have great weather! That is awesome news! Have you told the boys??? Now you get to plan for a new baby and a new home!!!

you will love it here! i live in Ne and only live about 30 mins from your location i actually live in lincoln!!!! yah im sooo excited that you will be living soo close!!!!

my sister-in-law is expecting in June and she has an amazing doctor in OMaha and i have an amazing doctor in lincoln!!!

don't mind me asking but where are you going to be located at? my brother and his wife live in Papillion area - i swear im there like every other weekend!!!

yah yah yah yah you willl love the winters of cold and snow and the summers of heat and no wind!!! but its nebraska and YAh i hope your going to be a huge husker fan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We haven't gotten to tell the boys yet because we just found out about 930 this morning and they are at daycare...but I'm sure when we tell them we are gonna be moving to where it snows they will be ecstatic!

There are ALOT of ladies on this forum from near Omaha!! YAY for REAL JM friends!!

well i can't wait for July for you to move to Omaha!!!!! it maybe a tad bit hot so id be prepared to wear tank top and shorts!!!!

I'm sooo excited for you and Dustin!!!! The boys will love the snow!!! Be sure to set some money aside for snow tires!!!!

It hasn't been announced yet That is just Jess and her *wishful* thinking!!

YAY! So the boys are stoked...but Cam is a little upset that it may only take us 3 days to get there and not 4... gotta love kids!!

YAY glad you got an assignment...BOO that you have to move in 3rd trimester

Start buying cold weather gear, brrrr Omaha even SOUNDS cold! But my cousin was based there years ago (she's in AF too) and loved it - and she grew up in Hawaii - so there must be a lot to recommend it despite the cold winters!!!

Hey! That's great! My kids and I are going to the Omaha zoo this summer. We'll have to meet up! I'm about 2 or 2 1/2 hours away, so I'm not there ALL the time, but I do get there on occasion.
