I had a miscarriage of January 23. My HCG levels went to 0 two weeks later. I am now having pregnancy symptoms again and I scared about the risks of getting pregnant right after a miscarriage. Any advice would help!!!

I haven't experienced this (having a pg right after a m/c), but I've known a lot of people who have become pg 8 days to a month after their m/c and they had a successful pregnancy.
I think you will be ok, even though Dr's say wait 1-3 cycles.

Have you had your AF? I just went to my Dr today and got the all clear to TTC. I had my D/E on Feb 6th. My Dr said after AF comes... I am good to go. He also said if my body wasn't ready an egg would not implant itself. Hope this helps a little.

If you were to get pregnant everything would be just fine, the main reason doctors say to wait is for dating purposes because dr's use your LMP to date your pregnancy.

Hi, welcome to the board!!! I am sorry to hear about your loss and I know you must be a little scared right now. As for me, Dh and I started TTC again immediately after losing our son in Dec (I was 17 weeks). I did my own research and COULD NOT find one single medical explanation that supported waiting to TTC. I even talked to Dr's and Midwives and none of them could give me a MEDICAL reason to wait- they had plenty of emotional reasons, but no scientific proof. So, don't put the cart before the horse, test first- see where you are, then you know whether you need to start seeking medical advice or not. If you are pregnant then you just need to move forward and let it happen, there is nothing you can do about it now. None of us wants to have to worry again, but unfortunately I think we will all be just a little afraid when we get pregnant again. But I don't want you to worry yourself without reason, see what the tests say and go from there.

Welcome to the board,
I'm very sorry to hear of your loss!!!
Based on what you've said, with your m/c being almost a month ago, it could very well be a new pregnancy. All I can suggest to you is to test and see what it says.
Good luck!!!

I just took a test a it was positive but the line was very light. Should I wait a few more days to retest or should I test in the morning with FMU. I know it's not positive from the miscarriage because I had to do blood work till it went back down. I'm trying not to panic but I'm scared that I will miscarry again.

Congratulations! If it was me I would test again using FMU, just to see the pretty second line! Then I'd call my Dr. for a blood test. I think that we all have the same fear that we will suffer another loss. The truth is, statistically, its highly unlikely. Good luck!

I would be thrilled to be pregnant again. I am just concerned about any risks that I would have. I am guessing that I am about 8-9 days dpo and have taken 3 tests. 2 positive and 1 neg. The neg was the last one I took so I am trying to wait a few more days until I test again. I feel like I have every symptom possible though.

I'm sorry for your lost, and I'm hopeful that you will have the results you want. I will say that if there was a REAL reason for you to avoid pregnancy, your doctor would have said something. As it is, they just want you to rest and become emotionally ready. As if 1-3 months everything would go away. We will always be scared. But like Kimberely said, its statistically unlikely.

Just checking in to say welcome! So, did you test today? I'm excited for the possibility that you could be pg again. KUP!

I had a natural miscarriage with my first pregnancy (around 8wks). Our OB told us to wait until we got AF before trying again. Well....we ended up getting pregnant BEFORE getting post-m/c AF and we have a healthy 3 year old son to show for it. I hope this happens for you too!!!

I think as mommies of angels, we all experience a little more worry and fear. We are all here for you!
Everything sounds really promising!! I'm so happy for you!!

So I tested again yesterday and it was positive but super light again. The line hasn't gotten any darker. I am going to hold out until Sunday and if AF doesn't show by then, I will test.

It's natural to be scared, but I Hope you get your BFP!
My doctor also told me if my body was not ready I would not get pregnant, I might be pregnant too and I have yet to have SF since my D&C.
