I AM YOUR NEW CO-HOST!!!! YAY!!!! Now maybe Jessica will get a little time to relax and not have to worry about doing it all herself, even though she is doing a great job!!!
So a little about me, if you really want to know... I am Heather married to DH (Robby) we have two children together, one angel in heaven and I have two stepchildren. We live in Lower Alabama with 5 dogs and 2 horses, it's pretty rural where I live but new houses are popping up everywhere!!! We moved here about 2 1/2 years ago and I am loving 'country life'. We moved here from a fairly large nearby city so we didn't go too far, but it is nice. I am a SAHM with several volunteer "jobs" and DH is a Welding Inspector (not a welder, he supervises and creates the procedures for the welders to follow- many people get confused) so he travels a good bit. I try to go see him as much as I can when he is working out of town- that's how I got to know the city of Houston, TX REAL WELL!!! LOL Hmmm, I don't think I am that ineresting... I like to cook and lately I have been on a home decor kick!!! For some reason I can't stop decorating the house!! I even bought fake fruit today---- FAKE FRUIT----- who buys that??? HAHAHA
I guess the best way for you to get to know me is to have you ask questions. So here is your chance, ask away----- I promise I will answer, even if I don't want to
By the way, thanks for having me on this board. It really is a delight to be named co-host.

Here is my fake fruit.... on my kitchen table. My great grandmother used to have some and I would always play with it when I went to her house. She died when I was 10 and fake fruit has always reminded me of her.
Also, if I were still pregnant right now I would be about 27 weeks, right about the time the nesting instinct usually kicks in for me. I have a theory that I am nesting, which explains the home decor obsession.
The white box on the table is my stepdaughters birthday cake- so you know what I will be eating tonight!!!
Danielle- I actually live in Mobile, you probably pass my house to go to Target- as a matter of fact I was there today!!! We should meet for lunch sometime!!!

Hi Heather, nice to get to know you better. That is too funny about the fake fruit, it looks just like the stuff my grandma had too.
Are you from Alabama, do you have a cute accent?
What is your favorite meal to cook, want to share any recipes?

Yes, I was born and raised in Alabama- sounds like a country song don't it I personally don't think I have an accent, I think I sound like everyone else. I have, however, had many people comment on my accent when I have traveled outside the deep south
One of my favorite meals is Taco Soup. It is super simple to make and you can double or even triple the recipe (if you want to feed a TON of people) with no additional work. EVERYONE likes it, it freezes well and is very filling. Here is the recipe- ENJOY!!!
Taco Soup
2 cans Dark red kidney beans (undrained)
1 can Diced Tomatoes in tomato juice
1 can Sweet corn (drained)
1 can Tomato Sauce
1 lb Lean Ground Beef
1 pkg Taco Seasoning
1 pkg Ranch Dressing mix (powder)
Brown ground beef and add taco seasoning and ranch dressing mix. In separate large pot combine all other ingredients. Add seasoned beef and let simmer for 20 min on low heat. Serve with sour cream, shredded cheese, and even tortilla chips.
It makes a GREAT substitute for chili and is awesome on cold days. The best part is that it is one of those dishes that is even better after sitting in the refridgerator overnight!!!

We'll definately need to get together sometime before we move in July! Any excuse for Olive Garden or Carabbas Especially once we know what the baby is I'll practically be living at BRU...
That taco soup sounds DELICIOUS...I've been craving Mexican foodso YUMM-O...(I had it for lunch yesterday and dinner tonight)...
And my Grandma had fake fruit too...must have been something about their generation

Sure there's LOTS of work here... cleaning the house, cooking dinner, cleaning up after all the animals (and kids), cleaning love bugs off of the cars, cleaning the mud off of the car (did I mention I live on a dirt road)... Lots of work, very little pay but you are welcome to join me if you want. I do love it though!!

I love the fake fruit!! I have those weird ball thingy's in the middle of my coffee table. I need to find something for the breakfast nook table. I'm also in the decorating the house mode. We just bought our house in Nov. And it was only 3 years old. So all the colors were still neutral. We've painted 3 rooms (all bedrooms) and I just can't figure out what colors I want everyhere else. I know paint isn't expensive but it sure is a pain in the butt to repaint everything if it's the wrong color!!
Thanks for the recipe. It sounds like something my husband would love.

Glad to hear it Heather!
And I too admit to having fake apples in my fruit bowl in the kitchen. It makes me feel better when I have been putting off grocery shopping for too long! Also I am a southerner too, here in Chattanooga TN.
