I hope I'm posting this in the right section. I just found out I'm pregnant again, after 9 months of trying again. Actually it's 5 days from a year of when I found out I was pregnant the first time, kind of weird. My mind won't wrap around this right now. We've been trying for such a long time, I thought something was wrong. It's like it's too good to be true.

I'm so scared that I'll do something wrong, by what I'm eating or not eating, is exercising OK? I just started trying to loose weight! I'm down 4 lbs in a month. In a way I was hoping to loose more before I was pregnant again, but I also could have started this 9 months ago! Is there anything I can do to prevent a miscarriage again?? Are there others out there that have been thru this and have any advice??

I can't go thru another miscarriage.....I'm scared. I can't tell any of my friends or family for 3 months either With the miscarriage it was too hard so we decided to wait this time. I'm having a breakfast get together with my 2 best friends this morning too! And one is an OB/GYN resident!

Any advise to ease my mind?

Thanks.

First of all, CONGRATS! I know it must feel surreal, as it did to me after trying a long time after my first loss. When I was pregnant again, I requested a progesterone serum test to see if I needed supplements (which I did). Perhaps you could do that as well? If your OB is interested in monitoring your pregnancy he also may order HCG beta tests to make sure they are doubling. My OB wanted early ultrasounds to monitor things.

But, all this comes with the added stress of worrying about the tests and the results. Some people find its better to just avoid these and relax instead.

As far as exercising goes, I would keep it very low key although usually they say moderate exercise of most forms is fine.

HTH! Sending you lots of sticky baby dust!

CONGRATS on your BFP!!! We all know that feeling of not wanting this to happen again. I was just given the ok to TCC. And I can tell you I am scared. If you have went through a M/C the last thing you want is it to happen again.

Both DH and I went in to the Dr and had a long talk with him. He broke it down this way for us. Out of every pregnancy that walks into his office 15% will M/C. So as it stands now if I conceive again I have a 15% to M/C. He also went to say that really, thier is nothing you can do.. except: watch what you eat (as in eat healthy), exercise if you have been, don't drink to much caffine, beer, or wine.. ect. If you have low progestrin they can put you on suplements. But as in my case I had an extra 22 chromosome. So know matter what I did or didn't do my pregnancy would have never ended in a healty baby. It sucks... but it happened.

And we want a baby so bad, will will take our 15% risk and try again. I was told by my Dr. that when I get my BFP, he will bring me in weekly to monitor my levels, have an ealy U/S, all same things he did this time. Since I did have a chemical pregnancy in Nov, and M/C in Jan.

I am sure if you talk to your OB, and tell him/her you worries that they will help ease your mind with at least putting together a plan of care.

Congrats on your wonderful news!!! I think we are all a little scared to TTC again, unfortunately those feelings just come with the territory now. All you can do now is your best. You can't change anything that has already happened, but you can take positive steps forward and be sure you do everything within your power to have a healthy pregnancy. I truly don't think that there is a doctor on earth who would recommend that a (otherwise healthy and normal) pregnant woman NOT excercise... there are so many benefits, only one of those benefits being that it will help reduce your stress level. And I am sure your stress level can go through the roof right now. Be proud of losing that 4lbs and just move forward. I am sure your Dr can give you the name of a nutritionist that could help you work out a healthy eating plan to keep your weight gain to a minimum. You may want to consider telling at least one VERY close friend so that you can have someone to confide in if you need it, but I do understand about not telling everyone. When we lost our son I HATED having to call people and tell them the news. It was so difficult.

Welcome to the board, please feel free to come here to find support, we are all here to help each other. Thanks for sharing your wonderful news!!! We love to here from women who have successfully concieved after a loss.

Congrats on you BFP! I dont think there is anything you can do to prevent it really so just be careful and dont do the obvious like smoke and drink and all that but try to relax and not stress. Hope all works out.

Thank you every single one of you It was all great words of support and wisdom. That's one reason I like these boards, everyone is very nice and friendly. I have been starting to eat better (which I wonder if it had anything to do with finally getting pregnant again!) and I have been consistently exercising for 30 min. almost everyday for the last month. Just an at home exercise tape, so nothing I'd worry about being too strenuous. I had heard that M/C happen in 20% of pregnancies, so I'm hoping I don't become that statistic again. I hope everything is healthly and there is nothing wrong with this one this time. I will keep doing what I'm doing, talk to my doctor, and hope for the best.

I hope I can give someone hope that is TTC again after their loss. I know I searched these boards for those stories to make ME feel better.

Congrats and good luck! The ladies have already given you great advice. I just started TTC again this cycle, after a loss in December so don't have much to add.

Hi Violet! Welcome! I feel the same worries and you and wonder what I can do. I know what will happen, was meant to happen, so that keeps me sain. I already have good stress levels, so I'm ok there -- However, I dont think Im a healthy eater and I really don't exercise .

I had read/heard that if you worked out before you got pregnant, continue with that schedule, but be aware of things that could be too much. i would also talk to your Dr. about that as well.

We're not telling anyone either until 13 weeks. I have told very close friends, which helps, but other than that just yall!! :-)

Best of luck and KUP!
