Hey Ladies,

I was wondering who among us didn't have normal cycles after their first AF (post-mc). I temp, so I know when I O. I'm on CD 22 right now and nothing. According to other bodily signs, I geared up for it last week, but it didn't happen. I had irregular cycles before, so this might be "normal" for me. Still, I was hoping for something to go well this month. I also have heard that it sometimes takes a few cycles to regulate after a MC... but you know... it's hard to wait for that!

When I conceived last Fall, I didn't O until CD 48 and I have this horrible nagging feeling that this is why we lost the baby. We've only officially been trying since August and technically we did get pregnant... but at what point do you girls think I call my Dr. and ask for help with the craziness? I know they say a year of trying, but do you think that counts in these situations? Should I wait a few more cycles? Just looking for some opinions or personal stories because it's driving me nuts!!!!

I have always been really regular and I picked up right after my first AF following my D&C so I can't help much. I do know that any good dr would help you figure out what is going on. So many of us are afraid to go to the dr when we have a question, but that is what they are there for. I am the crazy one that went to the infertility specialist because my periods were short. I have no intentions of taking the wait and see approach. I feel like I have been through a lot and I want answers!!! personally, I would call the dr and get the first available appointment- the stress of worrying isn't doing anything for your overall health.

O on CD 48 could indicate an underlying fertility issue so it wouldnt hurt to ask your doctor. I never wait the "recommended" time and have found that although you may have to look around, there are doctors who will listen. However, I've read that it isnt unusual to occasionally have off wack cycles ESPECIALLY after MC.

I've been pretty regular since my last MC so I may not be much help.

You may want to speak with your doctor, let him know what is going on and what your concerns are. I am still waiting for 1st AF since m/c December 27 (I Oed on day 69). I always had irregular cycles up until last year. Some of it, I believe was related to high levels of stress.

about 8 years ago, when I was going approximately 5-6 months without AF, my ex-doctor had told me I would have trouble conceiving and need fertility drugs when I chose to get pg (of course he said this without doing any testing!). My next doctor told me that ovarian cysts could cause a delay in AF as well (which was what happened to me).

Thanks for your replies! It was encouraging that I should do something about it... I realized I was late for my annual anyway.. so I have an appt for Friday and I'll bring it up then. Hopefully she listens and offers some tests!

Sorry I missed this post but I agree and I am glad you are going in to see your doctor. I have pretty regular cycles as well so I can't really help in that department. Hopefully the doctor will help find some answers for you.
