Did it take for you cycle to return to normal after m/c? (and how far through the pregnancy were you - I assume that matters). Did you start TTC again right away or were you advised to wait?

DH and I are not waiting but not "trying" either. No charting, no OPKs, just let nature take its course for a few cycles and see what happens. But with no OPKs I won't even know when to test (which might be a good thing - I can get a bit obsessive about POAS).

It took 47 days for AF to return after my D&C...I was 9 weeks 2 days along (growth & hb stopped at 9 weeks)....I was advised to wait 3 cycles before trying again. I ultimately waited 2 cycles (mostly b/c the 47 day wait for AF seemed like 2 cycles already ) and I'm now on cycle 3 of TTC post m/c.

I still haven't seen AF since before m/c on 12/27. I was approximately 6 weeks with no sac on ultrasound and decreasing numbers. We weren't trying in January which didn't matter because I didn't O! I Oed about 70 days after m/c and am expected AF (or preferably a BFP) next week.

I had odd circumstances. I lost the baby at 8 w 4 d. I went in to have a D & C because I wasn't doing it on my own. That was 9/18/07. About a month later I was still "feeling pregnant" I POAS and it was a blazing BFP. And I got kind of excited thinking maybe we had gotten pregnant again. Nope wasn't the case. They did an ultrasound and HCG levels (still high 500's) and found leftover tissue. So I had another d & c on 10/19. 3 days later HPT was BFN. And 25 days later I started AF. I was told to wait 3 cycles. I had AF in Nov and AF 12/17/07 and found out I was pregnant with Wyatt on 1/4.

I think having 2 d and c's made my cycle regulate faster. I'm not sure. But I didn't wait 3 cycles as recommended.

The reason I ask about how long you waited is because there seems to be varying answers to this questions. My doctor said there is no reason to wait at all but I spoke to an EPL counselor who said 2 cycles. I am sure the doctor was talking physical and the EPL counselor was talking emotionally/mentally. I guess we will just do our thing and trust that it will work out for the best for us.

My midwives said that there is no physical reason to wat to TTC, but they like to tell patients to wait 3-6 months for emotional reasons. I couldn't wait that long and basically told them that, they just said to do whatever I am comfortable with.

BTW- I was 17 weeks when I lost my son and I O'ed about 3 weeks later and Af came 15 days after that.

I was 7 1/2 weeks... had a D/E just got AF 35 days post D/E. My doctor told me not to wait. No medical reason for me to wait he said. I had to wait because DH had back surgery and I think I O' (didn't have OPK's) the week he had surgery. We missed it by the time he was able to bd. So we will be ttc this cycle.

I think its for pregnancy dating purposes. So they can tell approx how far along the baby is. If you dont get a period and actually do get pregnant and keep waiting and waiting and waiting for AF to come, you would have no idea how far along you were.

I lost my bean at 9w4d almost 6 weeks ago. I am still waiting on AF to show. I have "felt" like I'm going to start soon. I had O pain on Feb. 28. My doc suggested waiting 3 cycles and until then to use protection. He said we could resume "getting happy" with each other within a few days, so as soon I stopped bleeding/spotting we did. Hubby never was a "hat" wearer, so I guess you could say that we started TTC immediately.

I was 5 weeks 1 day when I lost my baby. I started bleeding June 15th, and it ended June 18th. I got AF on July 20th and bled the normal amount of days, I believe it was 4 or 5. It took 32 days from the day the bleeding stopped for AF to return for me.

I also had a natural miscarriage.

I thought I was 12 weeks along on Feb 7, but baby had died at 9 weeks. I had a D&C on Feb 7, and my period came 24 days later (atleast, I think it was my period ). The doctor advised us to wait 2 cycles. I'm not sure why...I wasn't really paying attention.

I had a D&C done on Feb 19, I was 8 weeks but ultrasound showed baby died at 6, and I've been told it could take 4-6 weeks for AF to return. Since I passed a pretty big clot on Feb 25, I'm gonna start counting from that day...which puts me at almost 3 weeks. I'm hoping she comes in the next few weeks...fingers crossed! Oh, and me Dr said said we should wait until AF shows up and then we can start TTC again!

I found out I was pg and the next week, we lost the baby. It took a total of about 7 days for it all to end. I think it was doing it on its own when we found out. Good luck. I hope you get a bfp asap!

For all 5 of mine I was between 4w2d and 5w1d. My cycle came back pretty much immediately for 4 of them. Then for 1 of them it was 57 days after my loss before AF showed.

I m/c naturally at 9 wks. I had a blighted ovum and the sac was only 5 wks. AF came back after 6 wks the first month and 5 wks the second month. I started to TTC after AF arrived the first time. It all depends if you can emotionally handle it. I'm hoping for a BFP this month!
