Hi Ladies! I have a question about EWCM... How long do you have it for? Is it just for one day, two days or longer? I seem to get it right when I O and it lasts a few days.

I'm new to all of this knowing when I O and charting (sort of).

I think it changes from cycle to cycle. I would say that in a normal cycle I would have it for only a couple of days. But it's very easy to confuse EWCM with baby batter

I haven't had EWCM since my d&c, but this past cycle I did have really watery CM for about 3 days around my O time- obviously that was what counted because this time I got a BFP.

Oh yeah- I had a lot of thinking to do last month and I made the decision to avoid taking baths during my fertile period (about 3 days before O and the day of). I know most of you are saying "OMG, that is soooo gross" (I just reread that last sentence ) Let me clarify- I only took SHOWERS!!!! I am a serial bubble bath taker and have made it my special treat to take a bath every night if I can. After thinking about it I seriously started to wonder if all of that extra water 'down there' may be making it more difficult to concieve- changing the PH, washing away CM, etc. So maybe that will give you something to think about too. It may make a difference or it may not, but it is worth a try to skip the baths and only take showers during those few days!!! It worked for me.

oh Steph, I'm wondering the same thing!!! I'm so confused lately. Before I got pregnant last year with Katrina, it seemed so easy to watch my cm and use those OPKs and now I'm having so much difficulty

maybe I'm thinking about it too much.

mine would usually last for about a day though or maybe two.

ok i'm definitely no expert but I have spent the last few cycles obsessing over every bit of info FF throws at me in charting

This is the first cycle post d&c that i've had EWCM (like Heather, i had watery stuff for the prior 2 cycles)...mine showed up only in the 2-3 days prior to O...which is most common, but FF said that some women see "patches" of EWCM (or watery) at various non-fertile times throughout their cycle.

Like Kimberley said, it sometimes hard (for me at least) to tell it apart from baby batter...FF's tip for that is if it can be pulled/stretched like an inch then it's EWCM (baby batter apparently can't stretch).

Hope that helped...charting can be kinda confusing...i've been doing it a few months, but i'm sure I still have tons to learn about it.
