hi ladies, it's been 2 and 1/2 weeks since my miscarriage. I was 10 weeks along, but my baby died between 5 and 6 weeks. I have been testing with hpts to make sure the hcg levels are dropping. test line is getting lighter, but very very slowly.
did any of you test too and how long did it take for the hcg to be gone!!!! i am supposed to go in for a blood test next week to get an hcg count and make sure it is indeed decreasing as it should.
I had a d & c...so I don't know for a natural miscarriage. I hope it goes down soon for you!!!

Given the go ahead TTC after 1/2012 clomid and ovidrel 4/12 and 5/12 cycle.
On ttc break after being told we failed post coital test. Last AF 5/22/2012.
Positive HPT 6/15/2012.
13dpo hcg 170 progesterone 21
17 dpo hcg 694 progesterone 26. Ultrasound scheduled 7/2/2012
Mine fell rapidly. In fact, negative HPT's were my first clue I was losing some of them, but then again mine were all around 5 weeks or less. I hope someone else can answer your questions better than I can.
Lynda,
I know it took a while. When I lost my baby my hcg was 29000 two days prior. So I am sure I would have showed up at two weeks. If in doubt I know you have your doc run an hcg and then another 48 hours from then. That will give you some idea. I hope your levels start going down soon.

Mine turned negative very quickly. Maybe you havent had a complete miscarriage yet. Have you stopped bleeding? You should probably call your doctor if youve stopped bleeding and their still positive.

Mine took 21 days to get a negative HPT. I tested almost daily. I had a natural m/c at 8 weeks and the baby had a HB the day before I m/c per the ultrasound
On my longest I was only 6 weeks and I didn't test, but I had blood tests for about 3 weeks until I went <5.
I wasn't the POAS addict then, so I didn't have a lot of tests around.
I had a natural miscarriage 2-6-09 at 8 weeks they think my baby stopped growing between 5-6 weeks too. My Hcg 2 days before my miscarriage was 7000 something. The doctor said that no more bloodwork was neccesary after miscarriage, but like you I kept track with HPT at home so I could be sure the miscarriage had completed. I took a HPT every sunday after my miscarriage: 2/8 still blazing BFP, 2/15 light BFP, 2/22 faint positive, 3/1 BFN. Although, I did got another BFP on 3/11 which my doctor says could still mean I have tissue retained somehow, or I could be pregnant again. I probably won't know for a while. Maybe your doctor would be nice enough to order you a beta hcg if you are concerned. I hope this helps you some.
It took about 3 weeks or so for mine to stop showing BFP. I had a natural m/c at 6 weeks but it took me a while to pass all the tissue. I bled for 25 days. It was around the time I stopped bleeding that my tests came back BFN. Hope this helps and I am sorry for your loss. Keep us posted.
I've also had my miscarriage 2 weeks ago. I was 11 weeks 3 days when I went in for my NT scan and was told the baby had died at 8 weeks 4 days. I went in a few days later to see the OB and he gave me medication that was inserted vaginally which induced my miscarriage, I had to repeat a few times, cause it didn't work the first time around. My beta on that day was 1938, which was March 2nd. I didn't actually pass the baby until March 3rd. On March 4th I went in to the ER, because of pain I was having and they tested my beta and it came back at 177. On March 11th I went back to the clinic for an u/s and blood test. I had a clot left over but my beta was down to 12. So my next appointment is next week on March 25th to check the levels again and I really hope they are down to 0.
Hope your levels have gone down as well. I guess it really depends on the person how fast the levels drop. I've heard of some women taking a long time for the last bit to disappear, hope that's not going to be us. I'm there with you in the waiting phase...and I'm sooooooo impatient!
My natural m/c was on 3/2 and my betas were about 10,000 on 3/4 my betas were about 2000 and on 3/13 they were about 900. My office didn't seem concerned that I haven't reached 0 yet. I don't go back until 4/2 for more blood work. I stopped bleeding on 3/16.
I'm a little shocked that the dr. didn't want blood work after the fact to make sure your levels were going done. I would definitely call to see if you can get your levels checked.
I mostly lurk here, but I thought I'd reply anyway. I m/c twins on 2/17, no d&c. The day before, my beta was over 13,600 (though I was cramping and spotting at that time). On 2/18 it was down to just over 5,000. I just had another one drawn Monday 3/16, and they said it was almost normal ~ I guess it had to be down to less than 20, if not lower. I didn't ask for a specific #. My Dr didn't sound too concerned~she said wait one more cycle and we can try again. I think I bled for a little over a week. I Never did use an HPT. For one thing, I didn't have any, and I just couldn't bring myself to buy any and see the negative...or worse, the +, even though I knew what was happening.
I hope your blood work gives you some answers.
