I have a question in regards to follicles. Not sure if any of you would be able to answer this, but you never know.
Anyway, when I went for my NT scan and found out that the baby had no heartbeat my family dr. gave me the results from the u/s that the diagnostic centre had sent her. Besides the info about the fetus it also states that " the ovaries appear unremarkable. There are follicles seen in the ovaries and a dominant cyst seen on the left." I'm a bit confused. Do you have follicles visible in your ovaries while being pregnant???? I thought they start forming each month and then get reabsorbed if they don't mature into an egg. I've been trying to find someone about it on the internet, but have had no luck. Anyone know anything about it?? Maybe it's normal and I'm just a bit duh!

I know you can see follicles well before ovulation, but not sure about during pregnancy. I would bring it up to your doctor next time you see her.

I know there are follicles around O time and they can hang around for a bit. I had a sonogram last month and there was a follicle on my left ovary and I started AF the next day and I O'd about 15 days before that. My new Dr. told me that the results are perfectly normal and not to worry about it.

I was just lurking but thought I might be able to answer your question. It's probably a corpus luteum cyst. They found that I had this as well during an u/s confirming my m/c. They told me that it's normal during early pregnancy.

It is formed in the follicle after the egg is released and during early pregnancy it provides progesterone until the placenta takes over. It dissolves after time. (this is what my MD told me) If you google corpus luteum you will find lots of info on it.
