Sooooo my dh and I tried last cycle and didn't succeed. My cycle was kind of wonky for whatever reason.

Here's the problem: My AF started on 3/21/09 which if we try this cycle we would have a due date of 12/26/09 if we were to succeed. My son Wyatt will be turning 1 in September so he'll be about 15 months at Christmas time this year. I won't go late with the pregnancy. I know I will have a c-section at least 7 days prior to my due date so that would be 12/20. Then I would have to stay at least 3 days. So that would be 12/23.

I want to be able to enjoy Wyatt's 2nd Christmas since he'll be toddling around opening presents and such. And I'm also concerned with if we do get pregnant and have a December birthday how it will work being so close to Christmas. I guess Wyatt won't really know what day Christmas really is so if we had to postpone a few days that would be okay...I don't know. My dh is all for it but also understands my concerns. I'm torn.

Please give me any and all opinions. I'm at a crossroads here.

If I get preggy I'll be due 12-26 too. Only I wouldn't have c-section like you. What about asking your OB to take you 1 1/2 weeks early?? Say around 12-17. Then you'd be home by 12-20.

I would go for it anyway, but I have been trying long enough that I don't care when it happens so long as it happens.

well i'm totally biased because i'd LOVE for you to join me in the Dec DDC!

Seems like a risk worth taking, in part b/c I would think it wouldn't be hard to convince your doctor to do the c-section a few days earlier to avoid the holidays and allow you to be back home to celebrate!

My opinion is to go for it! If it happens, it's just an extra gift for Wyatt!

I say go for it too!!! I wouldn't care what gender or what day, as long as it's a healthy and happy baby!!!

I agree with previous posters. I say go for it. If we get a BFP this cylce my EDD will be mid december and being my first I am fully expecting to be late BUT at the same time what is most important is a happy and healthy baby.

I have to say go for it... DH and I talked about this at length... WHY? Because my dh is a Christmas baby! He is 12/25/74.. So I asked him what his thoughts were and If he ever felt like he would have wanted his birthday different.. He always says to people when they say I bet you feel jipped.. he responds I guess I'll never know. He said his parents always made him feel like he never missed out. And since we have been together, we Christmas in the morning than his birthday in the evening. He said it would be fine if we try this cycle.. if we do it would be around the 17th of Dec. My ds is Nov 13th, and he was always ok with his b-day being the month before.

Thanks guys...you really helped a lot. I guess we'll just keep trying until we get it right without any pauses in between. You all are the best!

I'm having the exact same dilemma. AF started for me on the 21st this month too which would give me the same EDD as you, 12/26. I'm just not sure if I'm okay with that or not. It will be my first and I dont' know...I"m just torn. Part of my wants to start trying right away but part of me wants to also wait until next month. We got pregnant right away the first time, and I know that it may not happen this way the next time...I don't know...I just reallllly want to be pregnant. I guess maybe that answers my question??
