Sorry My normal cycle is an average of 31 days, there is very little variation so most of them are 30 or 31 days. Say I ovulate on day 17 this cycle, I have 6 ovulation tests and I'm going to start testing on day 10 just in case I ovulate early (if I ovulate at all). That means I have a test for days 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15. If I ovulate on day 17 will day 15 test come out positive or is that too soon?
I really should have figured all this out the first time we were ttc, I feel silly not knowing much about ovulation when I'm working on getting my 4th pregnancy.

Hey EvelynMA! I don't have much to offer as far as opk's are concerned. I don't chart or use OPK. I just bd with dh every other day. But I wanted to say good luck and I know how you feel. I'm ttc my fourth also and the first three were sooo easy to conceive. But this time I've had 1 m/c and I've become obsessed with this whole process! You would think that being our 4th time around we would be naturals at it! Anyway, good luck to you!

I'd like to, it's just that they are so expensive here. About $40 for 7 tests.

I buy my OPK on ebay they are from the ebay store, Fertility Plan. They start as very cheap.. Free shipping 25 tests for the less than 10 dollars (US) They are out of the uk.. Check them out.
eBay Store - Pregnancy: Ovulation, Fertility, Test
Other people use cheaptest.com and others. Good Luck!

Thanks for the info but we don't order anything online. Packages get left at the door all the time and they tend to get stolen.

My OPK's always got progressively darker until they turned + so in theory, you could take them every other day until you saw a line, then everyday until you got +. Hope this helps!!

I was kind of wondering what would happen if I tried that. Thanks!

Don't feel bad about not knowing all this stuff until now! This is my 5th PG (including my m/c) and I just learned about all this stuff. I never paid much attention to it before. I bought the Answer Brand 20 strip box. It was cheaper, but they were realllly sensitive. So, I used them until I almost got a positive, and then I used them with the expensive brand until I got a positive. Hope that helps? Are you temping? If you are able to do both, you may find it very helpful. And, by entering all of your past cycle data, the program will help you figure out potentially fertile days, too. Good luck...I know, it can drive you nuts.

My advise would be to wait unitl day 11 or 12 to start testing and watch your CM. If you see your CM get more like the EWCM then def. start testing earlier, but I know what you mean about the tests being expensive. I sometimes skip a day, if I see a very faint line, because the line does tend to get darker the closer to O you get. And remember the box says that if you get a + you will O within 24-36 hours. Plus sperm survive for 3-4 days, so even if you BD a couple of days before you O, you still have a chance. But I would BD every couple of days anyway to make sure to catch that egg! Good luck and have fun!
