My name is Heather, DH is Matt and we will (hopefully) be TTC after loss on my next (first) cycle.
We found out that we were going to lose our little one on April 2nd and I miscarried naturally on April 4th. I am so thankful that we didn't have to wait a week for the 2nd ultrasound and the talk about a d&c. I was supposed to be just over 8 weeks and the ultrasound showed our little one stopped developing at 5/6 weeks. There was just the yolk sac and beginnings of a fetal pole. So my miscarriage wasn't nearly as painful as I was expecting it to be. I'm ready for the miscarriage part to be over so my body can start to heal. As long as I get the thumbs up from my midwife and AF shows up, we will TTC again!
The loss of this pregnancy was such a shock to me because I am a birthmom to a perfectly healthy 5 year old little girl...so even though it was my 2nd pregnancy, I was still so naive about pregnancy. So now that I am a birthmom...and angel mom..I'm so ready to just be "mom".
Thanks for listening to me ramble and I'm looking forward to getting to know you ladies!

Welcome to TTCAL, hunny! You found the perfect words for what I've been trying to figure out how to express for weeks - feeling ready to be just a mom.
I hope you get your sticky BFP soon! *HUGS*

Thanks guys....I've gotten some snarky comments from people when I talk about Matt and I wanted to TTC again as soon as we can. But...those people have never even been pregnant, let alone experienced a loss, so I'm trying not to pay attention to it.
From what I understand, as long as we are emotionally ready and my body shows it is ready by AF coming to town, then we should be good to go. The rest doesn't matter.

You're right. only someone who has been through the experience can truly understand. Some people feel ready right away and it takes others a while to cope and move forward. Either way, you do what is right for you.
I am dealing with my second miscarriage. I learned from my first that the TTC after a loss can be stressful. Try to relax, let AF arrive, and then just enjoy the TTC! The real stress comes once you are pg again!
Good luck to you. I hope you are posting your BFP soon.

Welcome to this wonderful board. I am Heather. DF is Nelson. I am mom to two beautiful girls Gabby (9 Yrs) and Victoria (6 Yrs). Nelson and I have been ttc our first together since Feb 08 with a loss in Oct 08. I just wanted to ask what you mean by birth mom. Were you a suragate mommy? Sorry that I am that nieve. If you don't want to answer...totally fine and I am sorry. Welcome again. I am sorry for your loss and hope that you get your little one very soon. Hugs.

Birthmom is a term given to those who give their children up for adoption. Also called "birth parents" but it was just me making that decision. And its fine for asking!

Hi Heather, welcome and sorry about your loss!! There are wonderful, supportive women on this board. Glad that you feel you are ready to ttc again as soon as you can. You are right, people who have not gone through this sad time just cannot properly understand what you are going through, they can try, but sometimes even well meaning comments don't cut it. I hope that your stay here is short and sweet and you get that BFP in no time!!!!
