I've had two miscarriages in the last 5 months. We don't know why. All my tests are coming back normal. My doctor checked my progesterone levels at 7dpo. They were at 17.4. Is this good?

I don't know much about the specific numbers you should have, but I do want you to know that I am thinking about you and praying for you!!!

I had 2 miscarriages very close too (Aug and Dec) and my Dr tested progesterone at 7dpo and it was 8.5 and he's wasn't concerned, so your numbers sound good!

I was still worried about them being low, and I'm currently 4 weeks pregnant and my level was 34 at 10dpo. It can vary every cycle, and should be higher in pregnancy.

I am sorry about your losses.

I had 3 chemical pregnancies. One in September 2008, another in November 2008 and the third in February 2009. I was tested for different things relating to fertility after the 2nd and was diagnosed with 2 clotting disorders. After my 3rd miscarriage I started blood thinners and progesterone supplements at 3dpo and got pregnant the first cycle and I am now almost 10 weeks.

Have they tested you for any of the clotting disorders such as APS, anticardiolipin antibodies, etc?

My miscarriages were at 5 weeks in November 2008 and again in February 2009 at 6 weeks or so. The first one I never made it to the doctor. I miscarried on my own. Then my old doctor checked my progesterone but she checked it at 2-3 dpo. It was at 9.7. I didn't know any better so I didn't think anything was wrong with checking my level that early. She put me on 200mg of oral progesterone once a day at bedtime. Then a week later we checked my levels again. They were at 47. She backed me off to 100mg/day and I made it past 5 weeks that month but when I went in for my ultrasound with my new OB at 6 weeks, it was an empty sac. Maybe a blighted ovum? Or maybe the progesterone was just delaying the inevitable. I had to have a D&C at 7 weeks. That was in February. My new OB ordered a blood panel to check for lupus, etc. I don't know what else and an HSG (not as bad as I thought it was going to be). She also checked my progesterone at 7dpo. It was 17.4. I'm not on any supplements right now. I go in today to talk about all the tests and I'm going to ask if they tested for clotting disorders. I don't think they did but I'm not sure. I'll post again after the appointment today. Thanks for all of your responses. It helps to chat with women who are going through this too. Who knew this was going to be so hard???

Well, had an interesting day at the doctor. Found out they DID test me for anticardiolipin antibodies and they are elevated. My ANA levels were also elevated. Antinuclear antibodies. Until today, I'd never even heard of these blood clotting disorders. I head to a rheumatologist next week for extensive testing. Started baby aspirin today. Looks like I'll be taking that the rest of my life. So Alicia (who posted above) THANK YOU. You may have just spared me a third miscarriage. Had I not asked about APS, the doc wouldn't have gone back through my labs and found the test she overlooked. Bless you. I hope your pregnancy goes well. I'll keep posting.
