Hi Ladies, I do a lot of reading here but I guess I can't "officially" be TTC myself until AF arrives. I am going on day 38. Before my m/c & D&C AF was like clock work (since I was 16!) every 28 days. Even after my D&C 3 years ago she arrived exactly 28 days later.
I am extremely anxious to get pregnant again. Everyone might say I a "putting pressure" on myself, but I think I would rather be trying at least than just "in limbo."
I had asked you ladies a few weeks ago for a time line on when AF arrived and I got a lot of helpful responses. I guess I just am frustrated with the lack of being able to DO anything. (As you can tell I may be a little bit of a control freak! )
Thanks for listening. If I didn't post here today I would have been venting to my husband again! He's such a trooper for putting up with my weird rants.

Have no fears! Having a whacked out cycle is totally normal after m/c and D&C. Your body is probably trying to figure out what the heck is going on. Here's something to think about....after your D&C, your body doesn't necessarily "catch on" that you aren't pg anymore. Your HCG levels have to drop all the way back down to zero. So even if you count the D&C as "day 1" of your cycle, your body may not be on the same page as you. After my last loss, I was really curious about my HCg levels....I kept popping positive pregnancy tests for 2.5 weeks after my D&C! That means those hormones are still there and may be throwing your next cycle off. I think it took me about 40 days for my cycle to come back...then the 2nd cycle was a little shorter and by the 3rd cycle, I felt like everything was "normal" again.
In the meantime, you can "do" some things...you know, diet, exercise, vitamins. I'm sure you are already doing those things but maybe just take time to focus on them will help.

Is there any possiblility that you already are pregnant and that's why AF hasn't shown up?? I know of a few ladies that got pregnant right after their m/c without getting AF. I hope you know what is going on soon!!

Have you talked to your dr?
Not trying to scare you but I went 11 weeks after my d&c in Jan and still hadn't seen af. Before I was on bc ( I was 19 when I started taking it, 5 years ago ) my periods weren't really regular so I was starting to think there was something wrong with me especially since after stopping bc it took me aprrox 8-9 weeks to O (when i got pregant). I kept reading about pcos and not o'ing on time etc. etc. Finally I gave up called my dr. he gave me provera and said see what happens, takle one issue at a time. Took provera for 10 days, all while I kept thinking what if it dosen't work, af showed on the 12th day. And... I o'ed on cd 17 this cycle. So there is hope...BUT I don't think your dr. will give you provera until at least 8 or 9 weeks without af but I could be wrong. Good luck..

Everyone's bodies are different. Like Liz said, it can take a while for the HCG to get out of your system. You can always ask your Dr. to do some bloodwork to ensure that the levels are dropping. Good luck! I hope that AF shows soon so you can start to TTC right away.

Thanks ladies. As stupid as it sounds I hadn't really thought about possibly being pg. I think I will wait another week until AF doesn't show. Then I will test and call Dr. if not pg. Sounds like a plan right.
Thanks again for the input. Good luck to everyone TTC! Hope to see lots of BFP soon. (It reminds me that it does happen!!)

I've had some messed up cycles since my m/c as well...I think it sometimes just takes a while for your body to return to your normal cycle.

I hope AF shows up for you soon. I know it's normal for it to take several weeks, but it's so annoying to wait! KUP!

Those first few cycles can be so frustrating! I waited 43 days for my first AF, and right now I'm on day 37 with awful PMS and no sign of AF. I hope that she comes soon, KUP!

I was just telling my doctor this morning that it took me 3 months for AF to show after my m/c in Dec (my cycles were normally 30-38 days). He said that is completely normal, that AF takes a while to adjust itself following m/c. I hope AF comes soon. Good luck hun!
