I looked this up on the internet, and I got different answers from 'professional' sources (I don't know if they really are doctors, etc.). I'm buying the book Take Charge of Your Fertility as soon as I can get to the bookstore, but in the meantime, I would love to hear your take on this.

It's not that I think I may have or anything, I'm just curious

Thank you, ladies!

I've heard that you can. I haven't researched it much but it would make sense that you could release an egg from each tube. Probably doesn't happen every month but I think it's possible. My Grandma had 5 kids and they were using the calendar method as protection but she kept getting pg. Her Dr. said she must be ovulating twice a month. This was in the 1950s/60s so who knows if he knew what he was talking about.

Regardless, I hope you catch that eggie and we see a bfp from you soon!

It's totally possible (fraternal twins) but usually it's within 12-48 hrs, not a week or so. Erika, maybe your gpa just had really tenacious swimmers that stuck around for awhile! Because I am sure you wanted to have that thought about your gpa.

I've heard of this being rumor only. Ovulation is triggered by the lining of the uterus developing to the right point that LH surges, signaling that it's time to release the egg. One can come from each ovary, or two can come from one, etc., and they may be a few hours apart, this this is not two separate ovulations.

Once upon a time the did believe some women had multiple ovulations in a month, back when they thought ovulation always happened on a certain day of the cycle and women got pregnant anyway. Rather than thinking ovulation happened at a different point, it was just thought that there were two, or even three, ovulations. Also for many women, the time each month can change, making it easier to think that it happens more than once.

I've read recently (on the net - can't remember where exactly) that many women can ovulate twice after a miscarriage - the body adjusting and not quite sure what it's doing?
