So, I just saw a commercial for this test and it's intrigued me. I know I haven't been TTC for too long and have gotten pregnant before, but I'm curious. I was wondering if anyone else has taken this test? What was your experience with it? I'm considering taking it when and if AF shows this month, I still have 10 - 12 days before that happens. All insight is appreciated!!!

TIA!

You are suppose to take the test on Day 3 of AF and it tells you if you are producing enough of the hormone FSH to assess your ovarian reserve. Your day 3 FSH level is an indicator of the quantity and quality of your eggs and thus your fertility potential.

I've heard of the test, but it's not available in Canada yet. My Dr. tested my FSH levels in Sept and I will have them tested again next cycle as well.

I will try it only if I don't get that BFP this month. I don't think I will get it, so I'll buy the test later next week and will KUP!

how do you know if it works or not? sorry to seem a bit outta it, but how does the test work? and how would you know if it was accurate? only reason i ask is because my Dr. told me that the only way to ***** FSH is through the lab. She said in home tests don't tell the whole picture. I guess if your estrogen is outta whack, it can affect your FSH and provide false results. something like that... if anyone else can shed any info on this it would be great.

I pulled this from their website:

Understanding Your Ability to Get Pregnant

The NEW! FIRST RESPONSE ® Fertility Test for Women is an accurate test of FSH level to assess ovarian reserve (egg quantity and quality) – one of the leading single indicators of a woman’s ability to get pregnant.

Every woman is born with all of the eggs that she will ever have. Each month one or more eggs will mature in the ovaries in preparation for ovulation. As the eggs mature and are released over time, the number of eggs, which is a measure of a woman’s fertility potential, decreases.

Follicle Stimulating Hormone, (FSH), is one of many hormones that your body uses to regulate your menstrual cycle and to control the maturation of your eggs. FSH signals the ovaries to mature one or more eggs for ovulation each month/cycle.

If your ovarian reserve (eggs) is low in quantity or quality, your pituitary will produce higher than normal FSH levels early in the cycle, trying to stimulate your ovaries to produce a mature egg. In other words, when your quantity or quality of eggs (fertility potential) is low, your FSH level may be high.

Therefore, knowing your FSH level on Day 3 of the menstrual cycle can be helpful in finding out if you are able to get pregnant.

FSH level assesses ovarian reserve, one of the leading single indicators of a woman’s fertility potential and now it is possible to gauge your fertility potential through a simple at-home test with over 95% accuracy.

Using the FIRST RESPONSE® Fertility Test for Women on day 3 of your menstrual cycle can help you determine your fertility potential.
