....there are a million pregnant women walking around. We have a network of underground hallways with food courts and shops in the downtown core where I work. I saw so many women with their huge bellies when I went for lunch, it's like their taunting me. everywhere I look, oh there is another one. There has got to be a baby boom right now.

OMG there so is a baby boom right now. Seriously when I go on walks with Jack that's all I see are dogs and pg bellies. Some days it makes me sooooo sad and angry and jealous and bitter. Then other days I'm like, look, all these women are pg, it's not THAT hard, it's gotta happen for me. But anyway, there is definitely some sort of boom going on right now.

Actually I heard about it on the news...they're calling it the 'recession baby boom'...I guess people can't afford to go out, so they stay home and do other things...

I think it's a stimulus baby boom. My mw was telling me that she didn't have any new clients for about 2-3 mos, then we got news of the stimulus package and all the sudden she had like 6 new clients call. It was like everyone was being careful with news of the recession, then when they heard about the stimulus they decided it was okay after all.

yeah, here in Canada we get 1 year off for Mat leave..I think a lot of people fear being let go so they decide it's better to be getting some kind of pay just in case.

My DD was a "baby boom" baby HAHA!! We had a week here where we had a tropical storm on wednesday and a hurricane on saturday. The power was out and there was nothing to do- 9 months later- here comes DD. When I was in the hospital delivering the nurse has to rush me out of there and into my room because ALL 18 L&D rooms were full and there were 8 women IN LABOR waiting in the hallways!!! LOL So, DD is proof those things happen!!!
I am sorry you are having a difficult time seeing all of the pg ladies I know it can be very difficult at times.

I feel the same way. DH, DD, and I went to walmart to shop this evening and there were pregnant women and babies everywhere. It seems like everytime I go out I see pregnant women.

I wish the US had better mat. leave. we get 6 week paid disability...equalled out to be $100 a week.
If we choose we can get another 6 weeks unpaid, but then they can give out jobs away.

There could be 2 things at work here... 1...... we notice it more because even if its not at the forefront of our minds at the time.... its not far away.... and 2...... now that no one has much money.... and you dont want to spend any money you do have...'just incase'....... well how do you keep yourself entertained..... hubbys everywhere are smilin
I m fine most of the time.... for me it the reminder.... like i m going through my day... in a normal type way... not ttc focussed....... just ... like everyone else..... and then wham... big fat tummy...... so what comes to mind.... ttc... and it stays there.... then it will go again and i keep going on with everthing and then wham... another one

I COMPLETELY understand what you are feeling. The other day at work one of my co-workers announced she was pregnant and the kick in my stomach was that she is due on my due date. Then another pregnant lady was at the snack machine complaining that her M/S was so bad. Pregnant ladies are just everywhere.....
In all honesty I just wish I was them.

Yeah, my neighbour next door is due Sept. 15 (I was due Sept.14) and the lady next to her is due on Sept. 8. sigh! Couldn't they have at least been due later on. I'm just whining.....I'm really happy for them and wish them all nothing but H&H pregnancies and babies. It's just hard to look at them and not think about what could have been when I am surrounded by them. Anyway, enough moping....on with the positive thoughts and a BFP in a few days.

I know that underground walk area you're talking about, and just about everytime I've walked through there, I see a good 10-12 REALLY pregnant women!
I'm sorry you have to see this every single day, Trish!! I know it's not easy, but you WILL be one of them very soon!!!!
