Is anyone else getting acupuncture done to help get a bfp?

I have been getting it done for the last 6 - 8 weeks. in that time my cycle has gone from 34 days down to 30 (last cycle) and if i did O on the 13th (like my blood work reflects) then that should mean another 30 day cycle.

I am meant to be going this saturday, but I am worried because I have quite a bad cough - I don't want to go and cough and for it to hurt because I have coughed (oh god, does that make sense?? ) Last time i stretched my leg while the needles were in and that made them pinch so im worried the jolting of coughing will be REALLY bad. anyone have any experience with Acupuncture and can tell me if i should cancel (if i cancel then i won't be able to go back for another fortnight and it has already been 2 weeks since my last treatment - im worried about undoing the good work eek)

TIA for the help.

I have never tried it but I wanted to ask does it hurt while they are doing it or do you get used to it?

i have been doing acupuncture for two months. i have never had a problem with the needles hurting. i would say if you're really coughing bad, you can't really relax during the procedure and it defeats the purpose. BUT if your cough isn't horrible, i would go. it might make you feel better as a whole. G/L i hope it brings us both a STICKY bfp!!!

I am a huge believer in it. It took me about 8 months to get pregnant with my son. Then I got pregnant about 2 years after that when we were not even trying but I had a miscarriage. We started trying after that and nothing happened after about 6 months. I felt that my periods were still off or not as long as they should be. I started acupuncture and the Chinese herbs she prescribed me and within a month and a half I was pregnant. I did end up having another miscarriage last week so I am waiting for some test results to find out if there was a reason for 2 in a row. I already started acupuncture/herbs again and I can feel my body starting to go back to normal, the bleeding cramping has stopped and I feel pretty ok for just suffering my second miscarriage in 10 months. It is not cheap but you should only need treatment for 3-6 months they say. I was lucky to find a good dr. that has been doing it for many years and her pricing is pretty reasonable compared to these fertility clinics who are a total rip off. I feel it is totally worth it. Good luck. Let me know if you have any questions.

thanks everyone for your replies.. the cough seems to be backing off a bit so i might wait till Saturday to decide. If its bad, i will just have to cancel... if its not too bad, i will go. I do feel as though it has helped a bit so far.

Shortcake - it generally doesn't hurt. there are a couple of points where they put needles in which hurt a bit when they first go in (around the knees for me and also on my feet) but once they are in there (which only takes a minisec) they don't hurt..

argh, gotta run to work but I will be back soon to finish this post

I've been going for acupuncture for years for my migraines. It has worked wonders! I would definitely go - even with the cough. Just be sure to tell your Dr. about it. My Dr. says that it's okay to move around during a treatment. She says to keep your muscles tense is not good.

I haven't used it FOR TTC, but after my DD was born I wanted to lose some weight and my medical dr suggested I try accupuncture while I was nursing- with in a month I had lost 5 lbs AND gotten pg again!!! So I say go for it. Also, I don't know what type of accupuncturist you use, but mine was an actual Chinese Medical Dr (She used to run a traditional chinese medicine hospital in china) and she did accupuncture for all types of ailments- including coughs and colds. That may be an option for you too!!
