I am about 8 1/2 weeks pregnant but had spotting a few days ago. Then it turned into bleeding. Went to get an ultrasound today and the doctor says there is still a heart beat (between 70-110) but the baby looks abnormal and is only measuring around 6-7 weeks. He says the yolk sac is too big and the fetus is too small. I am certain of my conception date because I had an IUI.
She checked my cervix and it's still closed. The bleeding is still going on.
Anyone else experience the same thing? Is there ANY hope for me?

I did somewhat. I was 8 weeks at the u/s measuring 6.5 with a hb of 42 then 98 at the second. I did research to see if there was there was any hope and I did find some stories that ended ok. I really hope it turns out ok

I am so sorry you are dealing with this, you must be very upset. The best advice I can give you is that it's not over until it's over. This seems to be the mantra on this board. Never give up hope and keep us posted on your progress. You are welcome on this board anytime!!!

Just sending you some hugs hun, keep praying things will be ok. Ive heard of a lot of women having bleeding while pregnant and continueing to have very healthy beautiful babies. I have no idea about the size of the little one, I am just hoping he/she is a late bloomer. Keep us updated please? I'll be thinking of you.

I'm sorry you are going through this. I miscarried at the same gestational age as you (8.5wks) - no symptoms that anything was wrong but at my first scan the baby had no heartbeat, and he estimated the heart had stopped beating just a couple of days before. At the time I was so upset that I NEVER got to see the heartbeat - but I can see how for you this must be so much harder. To know the heart is still beating but that the doctor is not optomistic - I truly hope it works out for you.

I don't have any experience with exactly what you are going through. I just wanted to say don't give up hope. It's not over until it's over. You are still pregnant and your little one still has a heartbeat! Please KUP!
