After D&C question

So I had my second D&C in one year last week. Like the first one I had barely any bleeding but just a little pinkish spotting for about 5 days. I hear that most women bleed and bleed after these procedures. Anyone else not had the bleeding? I did have some cramping but noting bad. Is that normal? Anyone else experienced the same thing? The first time I did have what I thought was a period 2 weeks after the D&C and then my real period came about 2 weeks after that. I thought that was strange and maybe it was just the rest of the "stuff" expelling but I dont know. It is all so confusing. I guess I will see if that happens again. Thanks for your input.

I think I've actually heard of both... women having similar to AF, but also I seem to remember some only spotting for a few days.... Sorry, I know that's not much help! Hopefully some of the other girls will be able to answer more clearly. Can you call and ask your dr?

Huge hugs hun. I had very little bleeding until about 2 weeks after when *TMI I passed several clots and that was basically it. HTH and wishing you a speedy recovery.

I actually walked out of the docs office after the D&C feeling pretty good (just physically of course) and have felt fine since (mentally is a whole other story). Its now been 5 weeks, no sign of AF or anything remotely resembling it...not even a spec. My baby's heart stopped sometime between 8 and 9 weeks...d&c was at 9 weeks. Not sure if gestational age makes a difference.

Im pretty sure that is all normal, it depends on how much they leave etc during the d & c I had insane bleeding 12 hours after then it really became a bit of a non event for a week then I had no bleeding for a few days then at about 12 days after d & c I over did my exercise and ruptured then scab internally so you may have just done that!

I had a d&c and don't remember having a lot of bleeding after. I bled allllllll day waiting to get into surgery though. After that there would just be light pink "tissue" coming out when I pee'd for the next week or so. I wasn't in a lot of pain, just the first day a lot of cramps, after that it just felt sore and like I was scratched inside. I hope you feel better soon and I'm so sorry about your loss.

I'm so sorry for your losses....
I've had two D&C's this year too... two in the last five months actually. The last one was just two weeks ago. They were both entirely different patterns. The first one I bled a ton the first two days, then lightly for two weeks (with an occasional heavy flow one or two days). This one, I hardly bled at all for four days and then WHAM... tons of blood in an hour. I went to the ER because I lost so much blood in an hour that I couldn't feel my fingers! Since then it hasn't been that heavy again, but they did give me drugs to slow the bleeding. I've heard different experiences from different women, but that's what mine were like. I hope you feel better soon hun. We're here for whatever you need!

I also have had 2 D&C's this year with minimal spotting afterward, actually probably spotted for 2 days. I think it just depends on your body and how your doctor is at performing the surgery.

After the first I got pregnant 17 days later, never had my period. The second was just over 2 weeks ago, I am going to wait to ahve a cycle or two before TTC this time.

i had very minimal bleeding after my d&c. Maybe like light to medium flow over 3 or 4 days, which then went to spotting for a couple of days. I then got AF exactly 5 weeks later

I had my D&C on Apr 26th and I bled the day of and very very very light spotting the following day then I didn't bleed again. I had cramping the first day and was tender for the next few but other than that I've been fine physically. I've exercised and everything and been fine. Hope that helps you.
