here are some pics of the flooding which has been happening in our area over the last couple of days. We live on the coast now (we used to live here just before christmas and had done so for 10 years) and this is the town both me and Heath work at.

This is in the town we live in. The winds have been gail force to say the least. This is the hungry jacks sign that got literally blown away with the winds - just insane!

this is the town we work in. this is one of the roundabouts, well, where a roundabout normally is. (Rob, since you know where this is, this is the roundabout right near the square)

This is an idiot who tried to drive through flood water just to get his car stuck halfway through... (Rob, this is right near the square too, near the soccer club)

This is the shopping centre I work at. 2 of the entrances were blocked by flood water - yet they were still open I decided to take the day off!! Just to be on the safe side

We have a levee bank built and this is the biggest flood we have had since it was built. It goes over the levee at 10.4m. This is right near the levee (at the old rowing club) and is one of the indicators around here.. before we left it was at 10.2. In the end it didn't go over the levee but man did it come close!

So there are just a few pics. Sorry they are so big.

no i haven't seen an update for a while. last i heard they had taken bus's in to get everyone out. That macca's 2nd level is up sooo high - im surprised it gets up that high! wow. (unless they have taken it up higher since that flood )

Oh, i just realised i missed a pic

As you come out of ballina, this is right next to the caravan park on the right. The electricity poles were straight when i went past them on thursday night.. and this is what they looked like friday morning they are soooo lucky they didn't come down on the caravan park!

I ve just tried doing a google search for the photo of it...... grrrrrrrr

They didnt build it back up but they built the levies right up... meant to not be able to get over them......... so if it is up that high... then it would be higher than the 96 floods

Yep..... the drive through and the play/party area is on the ground floor and the second floor is where the kitchen and dining room area is.... they have a little conveyer belt that takes the orders down to the drive through window.

If I find the photo I ll post it

Wow, if it isn't a drought it's a flood. There's been a lot of crazy weather in Australia these past couple of years. I hope the waters recede soon and that no one gets hurt.
