The past two temps (not counting today) my digi thermometer had been turning off. I try to go out and get a battery last night... NONE... no one had the one I needed. I think ok.. I will get a basal thermometer... I go to K-mart.. they don't even carry thermometers for adults??? I was WTH? Don't adults get temps? I head over to rite aid... Just regular.. By this time I am getting a little PO'd.. I have been to CVS, Radio Shack and K-mart for batteries, than I look for a Basal at K-mart and Rite aid... I was like forget this ... Back to CVS and bought just a regular digi thermometer. Now are my temps going to be correct? Who knows!!!! Thanks for the vent!

Oh man that's annoying. I am surprised that those stores didn't have what you want. I wonder if a Whole Foods or vitamin store would have bbt since they usually have organic baby sections. Might be a stretch

That sucks! Every grocery and drug store in my area carries BBT thermometers. Want me to mail you one?

They're such a pain to find. The only BBT that I can find in the stores here is $20! It's so much cheaper to order one online! I'm sure the regular thermometer will be fine for now.

I bought mine at Target for about $10. Also, the battery you need to look for is hearing aid batteries. At least, that's what I had to buy for mine so I didn't have to buy a new thermometer. If you take your temp orally, a regular one is probably fine. I don't, so I got an actual BBT.

I can't believe you couldn't find a basal at CVS. That's where I got my first one but then I lost it so I picked up a new one at Target today.

I do temp orally... It was just so annoying..... K-Mart only carried baby's thermometer... WHAT??? I hope this new one won't throw me off too much... Thankfully DH has finally asked me to draw him a map (his way of saying when do we need to do the deed, not that he has to be told) But I told him.... every other HAS to be done... everyday would be fine with him... lol. I don't know if his little swimmers are ok for that... We didn't have a problem in Dec when I concieved the last time. So hopefully I won't need my temps to be accurate.

I know what you mean. I couldn't find one either. Soooo annoying! I actually had bought one a long time ago, but never used it and now I search my whole house and can't find it. The only place I found one is at Shoppers Drug Mart.

I had a problem when mine broke. I went to Walmart and got a BBT. The stupid thing was all messed up, I could take my temp one right after the other and it woul very (either up or down) by 2 degrees. I ended up buying a normal thermeter (not a fever one, messed up doing that before to).
That really sucks you had to drive around like that.

Do you have a Walgreen pharmacy? That's where I found my newest one. Our Wal-Mart didn't carry BBT thermometers--I couldn't believe it! I know several people that just temped with a regular digital or mercury thermometer and still got their BFP's, so I think you'll be just fine until you get a new one!
