I was looking around to see if I could find the answer to this so I didn't have to post ...... I had read that baby batter does not stretch.... SO speak slowly to me... NO stretch at all??? Or a little stretch?
Yesterday.. We didn't bd'd the night before and I had a large amount of very very stretchy cm, semi cloudy. Today... we did bd last night and again very strecthy and clear like eggwhites... I am very early to have ewcm.... Sorry if this is TMI. I did an OPK and it was negative. I haven't had ew or wcm this early since charting.... any ideas??? And what about baby batter???

hmm...I always thought it stretched, but was just a little cloudier than ewcm?? I had read somewhere that it can be hard to differentiate between the two...but I really don't have any idea... sorry!!

My understanding is that it doesn't stretch by itself, but if you keep it in for a while it will mix with ewcm and could be hard to tell. Maybe that is where the confusion is coming in. *TMI* When DH and I have dtd (when not fertile) I have never noticed any kind of stretchy quality to it.

I'm pretty sure that baby batter is from the guys if you get my drift.

I tihnk it depends on your DH's sperm if that is when you are refurring too. My DH's does strech,)not the sperm it self, but the semitical fluid. I would personally just keep charting, write it down, keep doing your OPK's and you will somehow tell what is going on by next cycle ,IF there is a next cycle.GL!

I would write it down and keep charting and see what happens.

Ok.... so... Baby batter definitely stretches. And so does a woman's cervical fluid when she's turned on or after orgasm... they both stretch exactly like ewcm. At least mine does. I know this, because I it happens far away from ovulation time. I've read ways you can tell the difference by... ahem... tasting/smelling/dropping it in water (one sinks and the other doesn't...or something like that). It's annoying and I haven't mastered the differences. I don't produce enough ewcm that it actually "comes out." so I feel more confident when I've gotten something right from my cervix itself.... how's that for tmi? That said, it could still be ewcm for you! Hopefully someone else knows how to tell the difference!

FTR, I don't think you're early to have EWCM at all. I usually started getting EWCM around cd7/8 and would O around cd13.
