So here's the deal. Had my D&C April 26th. Prior to my pregnancy, I had perfect 31 day cycles. Well I'm pretty sure my HCG levels were zero extremely fast because I noticed EWCM for a couple days about a week and a half later and I had an open cervix on May 11th. I'm pretty sure I ovulated that day because my cervix was closed the next morning and no more CM as well as, I know this sounds stupid, but I just had this 'feeling' that was very calm and relaxed and I just KNEW that I was going to get pregnant this time around. Well, I took a HPT on the 21st and it was -, but I wasn't stressing it because it could have still been a little early. Well, it's now over a week later and I've been trying to put off taking another test because I just figured I'd start any day, but still no AF. I'm also lacking my usual PMS symptoms that I always get dead on a week prior to AF. Then to add to that (warning TMI) I always get this coppery smell to my CM a day or two max before I start and it had that smell starting Tuesday. Sooo..... I guess the whole point of this is 1.) When should I expect AF to show??? 2.) Should I take a test??? 3.) When I got pregnant this last time I had a very similar experience, coppery smell, few days late but expected AF due to the smell, and lack of breast tenderness moodiness and headaches, so what the heck do I do now???

It took me 35 days from the day of my d/e to get AF. I used to be 28 days like clockwork. My cycles (I am on cycle 3) Have been 31 days. I would take a test, If it is neg wait a few days and still if no AF test again. Sometimes after m/c you may not release an egg. I would call you doctor if you are concerned with the time frame of getting AF... This is the second worst part of having a m/c now you have to get to know your new body. Good luck and KUP!

It took me 4 weeks to get AF after my D&C and I am a 21 day girl. So it was a week longer than usual. Our bodies take time to heal and can be off for quite a few months.

Everyone has a very different experience after a D&C. If you really think that you might be pg, then go ahead and test - but be prepared in case it is a BFN.

My doctor told me that my cycle can change after each pregnancy. So it may change timing or heavy or anything. After my first two I went right back to "normal" but this third one I seem to have become irregular although I am only three months post D&C and my doctor wants to wait one more cycle to see. I was a 30 day person for the last 8 years LOL. We shall see how this next cycle goes. I always believe in calling my doctor, better to be safe then sorry. Hope you find out something soon.

Everyone has a very different cycle after a D&C, so there's no way of telling you if AF is late or not. The say the "norm" is 4-8 weeks. For me, it took 7 weeks after my first D&C. I haven't had enough cycles to see my body go anywhere close to back to normal after a m/c, but from reading this board I understand your cycles can be really wacky for a while and/or change completely. In addition, I definitely felt pregnant before my first AF, even though we were avoiding. That said - PLENTY of women get pregnant right after a D&C while others never ovulate! It's so frustrating that with so many different experiences, it's impossible to tell you what's normal. So.... take another test if you want, but if nothing shows up then I would wait another week or so before taking another one. It could be your body geared up to ovulate but didn't.... and of course call your Dr. if you have any immediate concerns!
Lots of hugs hun! I know how frustrating this!

Cycles can definitely be wacky after a m/c. But, you asked if you should test... If you think you O'd on the 11th then you would have been 10dpo on the 21st when you got your BFN. Pretty early for most BFPs. If you test today, you should be 19dpo...definitely long enough for most BFPs to show. I'd say TEST! If you know that the possibility of a BFN exists, and you're OK with that, then POAS. If not, give it a couple of days. You're asking the wrong person. I'm a POAS addict. I would have been testing daily since the 20th. Crazy... I know.
Please KUP!

I agree with Kelty. It's been long enough from the time you think you O'd for a BFP to show up. Good luck!!!

It took 43 days after the D&C for RB to show for me. My next cycle was 40 days, so they may always be in the 40's. Unfortunately, I wasn't tracking them before I got pregnant, so I'm not sure yet.
Good luck, and KUP!

I am in the same boat waiting for AF to show after the D&C I had at the end of April. However I got pregnant on day 16 after my last D&C so I would test!
Wishing you the best!

My doctor said after a D&C it can take up to a year for your cycles to get back to normal. If your really worried maybe get in for a check up and see what they say? They gave me medicine to get AF after my D&C

Oh my, I didn't realise how out of whack you body can get after a d & c. I could have a long wait ahead of me before I can try again....
