I have the basic features on ff and I just started temping this cycle. what is the coverline? and when does ff put it in your chart? does it happen automatically or do you adjust it?

coverline shows when you ovulated. FF will automatically give you red crosshairs (perpendicular red lines). after FF notes a thermal shift in your temps for three consecutive temps/days, it will give you crosshairs and label ovulation with the vertical red line (day you O'd). It uses everything you enter. so if your CM is not consistant with temps or your opks aren't consistant with temps it can give you a red dotted line, which indicates that your signs didn't all line up and your CHs/ovulation day could change. again, it won't give them to you until 3 temps indicating thermal shift/rise. i have never had to adjust my chart, but i know you can. the horizontal red line is your temp coverline. temps should stay above coverline in the luteal phase. it really doesn't matter if they don't. but that's what it is used for. to what Lynda said! However, if you override FF and put in your own O date, it won't give you CH's.
