I am so sorry for your loss. I have just suffered my 2nd loss and had a D&C just over a week ago. My Dr actually suggested to start trying again straight away. I think every Dr is different and sometimes they take emotional healing into consideration and sometimes they may want to give the lining of your uterus time to thicken. When I asked my Dr about this though he said I wouldn't conceive unless my lining was thick enough.

I think it is more important that you do what you feel is right and start trying again when you feel emotionally ready. I didn't think I would be but I am very keen to start ttc again. As soon as I had my D&C all I wanted was to be pg again.

Godd luck with whatever you decide and best of luck with your recovery, emotionally and physically

I am so sorry for your loss I think that doctors recommend a certain amount of time after a m/c (I was told 1 month, others have been told up to 6 months) to make sure that the m/c was complete, the uterus has been able to rebuild the lining, and most importantly (IMO) that you are emotionally ready to TTC again.
Good luck sweetie, I wish you all the best.

Hello I am soo sorry I went through the same a missed m/c I hope you are doing okay my T&P's are with you and your family. My dr said to wait two cycles but we started to ttc straight away that was Feb and we haven't succeded yet hoping for a bfp soon though I think they say atleast a cycle for dates,to built up the uterus lining and your emotional wellbeing take care. xxoo

Huge hugs hun. I know the doctors all tell you different things but my doctor told me that your body will not get pg if its not ready. Just make sure you give yourself time to heal not just physically but emotionally to.

I'm really sorry for your loss! The same thing happened to me...I was 11 1/2 weeks and baby had no hb and measured only 8 1/2 weeks. I also took the meds to induce a m/c. Hope you start feeling better soon! The main reason the doctors tell you to wait is for emotional reasons and to make sure that your body has healed. It is also easier to pinpoint your EDD if you have had AF, but if you think you are ready to try before the 2 months there really isn't a reason why you can't. Just make sure that you have stopped bleeding and are feeling physically and emotionally ready. Good luck ttc again when the time comes!

I was told 2-3 months, but I had a stillbirth and an emergency D&C a week later for sudden hemorrhaging, so my doctor said my uterus needed to recover. My SIL had a m/c in November and got pg three weeks later and everything is fine, she and the baby are healthy. I think some doctors recommend 2 months just to be on the safe side.

I am so sorry for your loss. I will try to answer your question the best I can. My Dr told me that He wanted me to wait until I had 2 good cycles before I tried for another baby because it would reduce my risk of having another miscarriage but I have heard of alot of women that have gotten pregnant right after having a miscarriage or D&C and having healthy pregnancies. I hope I have been of help.

I'm very sorry for your loss!!!!

Like the other ladies have said, the doc tells you to wait so it allows your uterus to have some time to heal itself following the loss.

I wish you the best of luck when you're ready!!!

My doctor told me we could start ttc after my first period post miscarriage. I followed this advice because as someone else mentioned, there is supposed to be a higher risk of miscarriage if you get pregnant before having one cycle first. While I know this isn't the same for everyone, I just wanted to give myself the best chance of this not happening again so we waited.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Your story just breaks my heart. Each doctor is different with their "recommendations". I needed to wait 3 cycles because I had hemorrhaged and needed to get the iron levels in my blood back to normal. But, many women conceive immediately and have no problems. I hope you decide to stick around until you're ready. I did , and it made getting through a really tough time in my life just a little bit easier. Welcome, and I look forward to getting to know you!
