I'm still completely confused about what's going on with me. Here's my latest appointment update from today:

I'm sorry your dr. didn't sugarcoat anything for you.

The only things I have to offer is when I started spotting and went to the ER....I was told about 10 times that my cervix was closed. Less than 24 hours later, I was miscarrying. So the part about it being closed and your body not about to miscarry....that part doesn't make sense to me.

I hate that this is being so drawn out for you. I always considered myself "lucky" because when I had my ultrasound showing my little bean only at 4/5 weeks developed when I was supposed to be 8 weeks....and I was spotting, they still wanted me to go in a week for another ultrasound to "confirm". No one even told me I was going to miscarry...and the next day I started to miscarry.

I hope you get some answers soon....just having to keep waiting is probably making this whole thing even harder.

Since it doesn't seem like you are crazy about this doctor, can you seek out another doctor at another practice for another opinion? I am sorry that you aren't getting any answers!

Krista... this sucks!..... The whole thing... and about the RH.... This is when the two bloods .. the mom and baby... blood may mix. They usually give two shots... one at about 27-28 weeks and one given after birth... or when you are miscarring (the two times blood can mix) ... What happens is when you have that first pregnancy... with your dh/df/bf.. if you are negative... and the baby is positive.. your body will see the baby as a "germ" and than build antibodies in the blood.... if the blood mixes, It really affects more offten the second, third.. and so on since the mom will now see the baby as a "germ".. and try to fight it. It is an immune response.... Rohgam stops the body from making these antibodies that will attack any further pregnancies or the pregnancy you are in..

I wish you luck.. I hope those betas are rising!!!!!!!

Here's the latest...

http://www.justmommies.com/forums/f4...l#post16241867 (I feel like i finally have the answer i needed)

I've decided this is enough information to move forward and expect to m/c anytime. Can anyone help me with the bleeding question though? I started bleeding some today but it's not a lot yet. There was a little blood earlier and then it went away and then some later but now it's gone at the moment. Is this normal? Will it pick up and start bleeding more soon? I want to be sure it's the start of it.

Krista, when you talk to your Dr about the shot, also talk to them about medication that can help move things along faster. It's called Misoprostal and it will cause your uterus to contract and get things moving.

I wish I had taken it sooner - it would have made my miscarriage process a LOT shorter. You will also need some painkillers (I was prescribed Tylenol 3) because the contractions can be VERY painful.

As far as the bleeding....I had bleeding that initially sent me to the ER, it was there when I wiped and kind of came and went the NINE hours I was in the ER. Then the next day there was some residual brown from all of the poking and prodding.....and that evening I started to bleed heavier.

Krista - I am glad you finally have some progress just too bad it is not the progress we were all hoping for.

With my m/c I started bleeding quite a bit and then it stopped for a week. When it started again it was 2 days of spotting and light flow followed by a few hours of extremely heavy flow and finally passing tissue and clots. I would keep an eye on it and if it stops talk to your Dr about the medication Heather mentioned. From what I have heard and read since my m/c each one is so different from the next. You might find yourself bleeding today and tonight and then be done. I would suggest an ultrasound to make sure everything has been cleaned out and there is no residual tissue left behind.

How are you doing otherwise (ie mentally, emotionally)?

Krista, Im so sorry that your journey ended here. Since your levels have not gotten that high, you may just experience a heavy period. I would consider today the start of it, and you will more than likely in the next 48hrs get very heavy. since they did the u/s recently and confirmed nothing could be seen, you will be shedding a thick lining, hense the heavy period. But you may want to ask about the medication that has been mentioned here, it will help expell everything now, and hopefully your levels will get back to 0 within the next week or so, once the bleeding has ended. I wish you well in your near future, and pray for a healthy pregnancy soon, for all of us as well.

So when will i know it's over? When tissue and/or clots are passed?

You'll know its over when the bleeding spots.

Since your levels are so low and most likely your little one stopped developing early on, you might not even have tissue to pass...it'll be like Lori said, just a really heavy period.

I agree with Heather you will know because it should end like a normal period. For me the first round of bleeding ended suddenly. The second round I KNEW I was done becuase it stopped more slowly and ended with brown spotting like my normal period would. If you are at all concerned you can talk to you doctor but I just knew when it was done. Definitely like a very heavy period.

I should also add that when its all over - you should test negative on a HPT. I kept testing positive and still had the lightest of bleeding...which is when I had to take the meds to "finish" up. As soon as I took the meds, I started bleeding again and then everything was finally over.

I wish I had taken the meds first.....my miscarriage was drawn out about 2 weeks longer than it needed to be.

I agree with the other ladies....you will definitely know when you start to miscarry and you will know when you are finished. Your bleeding will probably pick up pretty soon. With my first loss at 6 weeks or so, it was just like my heaviest period ever but not too much worse than that. I will say that my earlier miscarriage was much easier than the one that I lost later. I think I bled for 7 days or so...not too much longer than a usual period. And, it was heavy but not out of control.

I'm so sorry for your loss and all the turmoil around it. Just keep an eye on how you feel just in case it is an ectopic.

Thank you all so much. It really helps me know what i should expect. Can i take any medication for cramps or pain? Like tylenol or how about pamprin which is what i take for my usual periods?

I'm doing okay emotionally right now. I'm sure i won't stay this content but i think today i've felt more relieved because i feel hopeful that this all may come to an end soon. I think i've been somewhat grieving for the past 2 weeks off and on already, but i'm sure the grieving process will continue once i really start bleeding.

Yes you can take medication for the pain. I took tylenol but if you usually take pamprin or something like that you will probably want to take it. For me the pain was definitely worse than period cramps and at the worst I definitely wanted to take something.

I am glad to hear you are doing alright emotionally. I guess for you it was hard to be excited for too long because you have been on such a roller coaster. You might find you "crash" after it is all finished and need some rest - in your case it would be from the stress of the drawn our m/c. I found I slept a lot in the few days following the m/c.

I am so sorry for your loss and the fact you had to wait so long to find out for sure. We suffered my 2nd loss a month ago and we had to wait a couple of weeks to find out for sure as we were not going to do anything unless we were 110% sure. I know how agonising the waiting is and as devastated as you are I was relieved (it seems like the wrong word but ykwim?) to know for sure so I could grieve for my angel.

Best of luck in your recovery, physically and emotionally. I pray you get your sticky BFP soon. Big
