OH NOOOO!!!! I think DS has 5th disease. I just looked at his face and he's got this lacy rash on both his cheeks. Why does he always bring everything home.
Now I am totally freaked out that I get it and something will be wrong with the baby. WHY OH WHY does this have to happen???!!!!

I am a school teacher and I can tell you that I was exposed to everything during my last pregnancy and 5th disease was one thing. I have never been around it until that year. I did go to my doctor and they did blood work to make sure that I didn't have it. They did tell me that it is less likely for adults to get it because they have more than likely had it as a child and probably didn't know it. Hope that makes sense. Just call your doctor today and let them know. I am sure you are ok.

I would definitely call your doctor and tell him/her about the 5th disease and see if they can test you to see if you have antibodies.....if you do, then there would be nothing to worry about! Good luck! Praying for your little bean!

Just got back and she did take my blood just in case. Unfortunately it takes about 3 weeks for the test results to come back...and really there is nothing that can be done. She wasn't sure if that's what he has but it could be. That was so helpful! The thing is that you are contages before the rash starts, so by the time I get the test results I could infect the whole planet..LOL
