*Could be TMI*
I started bleeding some on Tuesday, but not a lot. Ever since it hasn't been a constant flow. It will go away or i'll just spot for a little and then some blood will come and then it won't come again for maybe a few more hours, sometimes longer and sometimes not that long. I'm still not bleeding heavily yet. Do i mark Tuesday as CD 1 or wait until it gets heavy and mark that day as CD 1?

Krista... I don't think you start counting untill you pass the tissue... I know when you have a d/e or d/c that would cd1, Untill you pass the baby. ... (I have never had a natural m/c) But right now you are spoting, starting and stoping.... I hope someone can give you a more difinative answer. I am so sorry you have to go through this...

Krista, with a m/c unfortunately, you do not count the m/c as the start of new cycle. You will have to wait for your first AF to show after this spotting/m/c fully finishes. Now with that said, some women can concieve if their bodys alow them to, prior to your first AF. But cd1 will not be able to be figured out until you have your first AF. This is why dr.'s actually ask you to wait until she shows, so they can date the new pregnancy. Without an AF to date it, their left in limbo until an u/s can confirm when you did concieve. I hope this helps.......

Lori I counted from the date of d/e just to get an idea of length.. from my d/e till my first AF was 35 days.. than my cycles went from 31, 31, 29, 28. My d/e I counted as CD 1... When others have counted the days from thier m/c to af what day do they start at??? Would it be the first day of spotting or full bleeding or the day they pass the baby... Now I am curious..

You are a bit further along than me, but I'm counting today (the day I started to bleed) as CD1, just to have a refernce point. I'm not expecting to pass tissue though, since I was only 4 1/2 weeks along. However with my previous m/c I was 12 weeks and I started counting the day I actually passed the baby. hope that helps and once again I am truly sorry that you have to suffer right now instead of enjoying your pregnancy. HUGS!!

I counted the day I started bleeding at CD1 and my cycle took 34 days to complete... it is not really that important which day is CD1 becuase it is just a reference anyway. You might not have tissue to pass (as others have mentioned) so just for a timeline I would use thay you started bleeding (not spotting). The cycle after my m/c was so completely different from others so it was still nice to have a timeline to obsess over.
If you are concerned about when you O I would count CD 1 as tuesday and then use OPK's to get an idea about your ovulation. I do know that many women get pregnant the cycle after they miscarry so it might be a good idea to track that cycle.
Like Kary my cycles have slowly gotten back to my normal 28 days. I hope things return to normal after this is over so you get back to trying.

I wish I could help...I waited a cycle to be sure everything was "working".
I can tell you that I o'd about 11 days after I took the meds and got the "all clear" ultrasound (I had retained tissue that was causing me to still test positive on pregnancy tests...talk about heart breaking), and then had AF about 16 days later. A pretty normal cycle for me when looking back on it (even though the wait for AF was agonizing). Very normal period for me as well.
This cycle, I o'd right on CD 15.
I hope that can help you some.

Krista, I guess the reason why I stated that you would not count the first day of your m/c as a cd1, is because its not really a "cycle" yet. But for reference to when you get your first AF, that could be anywhere from 2wks to 3months. Everyone is so different. I would say most women here on the boards have gotten their first AF within 6wks on avg. I got my first AF after the d&c in about 3wks. D&C's tend to get the cycle going a little quicker. With a natural, you have to wait till your at 0 again with your HCG. I hope you back to regular real quick and dont have to reference too many cycles until your next pregnancy.

I know ive never posted here but i just wanted to add Krista that my doc told me what the others are saying, technically this isnt the start of a new cycle but it is possible to still O on a normal schedule as if it was af that you were having. I counted Saturday as cd 1 because thats when it got heavy and there was tissue (i assume). I have no idea if i'll O this time at all but i will probably still use Opk's starting in about a week just to see what happens.

I spotted and then bled on and off for 2 weeks before the m/c really started. I started bleeding on October 10th, and we couldn't find the h/b on Oct 11th, but, I didn't actually pass tissue until Oct 27th - Oct 28th (it took place overnight, so the dates are tough to describe without going into lots of detail) I counted Oct 27th as cycle day 1. AF showed 25 days later. I had typically had a 27-28 day cycle. Had I counted the extra 16+ days, my cycle would have been about 41 days. It was more accurate for me to count the day of the actual m/c as cd1. Hope this helps. And, I'm so sorry you are having to go through this whole thing. I'll be thinking of you. Let us know how you're doing.

I didn't chart until after AF showed. But, being a control freak, I still kept track. AF showed 23 days after my m/c (I had a natural m/c) and that was 27 days from when I first started to spot.
I'm so sorry that you are going through all of this Krista.
