It looks like the b/c pills have stoped me from ovulating so far.. I am cd 16 and I still havent had a jump in temps. I have 5 more days till July 1st. I have 20 days woth of b/c pills. If I didn't start the b/c pills af should of started July 7th... So what to do? Do I stop the pills July 1st? let my body just do what it will... It might start my cycle and bring AF in days-or week...as for Ovulation??? Or stop it on the 7th... again same as above... Or stop it with the end of B/C and I would end it on July 14th so prob.. would ovulate in Aug... edd april 20 th....
They say ovulation could be delayed up to two weeks after the stopage of long term pill use... I don't know if it would count for 1 cycle use???
I want to start July 1st.... Than I think I have to deliver after April 1st... the whole reason I put off this cycle. If I stop July 1st and I start af right away.. I would be due Arpil 7th... that is only 7days.... I could go early.... UGG If I stop it July 7edd April 13th... a little better... I don't think I will start the cycle... and ovulate on time.. but I just might..... I want to start tcc ASAP!

What would you do??

Hoselty.. please give oppions..

hehe Kary.. I should have probably waited till I had more sleep to answer, but I voted to just finish the bc... then you should just have a normal cycle after this and I've even heard that some women are more fertile post-pill! And you'd have the cushion! And a BFP! All good things!

My apologies if I didn't read that write and voted something I didn't mean to vote...

How long after you stop the pill will it take for you to O (ie if you stop it now will it start AF asap or will it take a week or so since you were only on it for so few days)? Or is that what you don't know.

I would split the difference between the 1st and 7th. For instance, stop the pill around the 4th, giving your body time to adjust and start AF (I am assuming that will take more than overnight). If you do start AF right away you will be due around the 10th but if not then it is giving you that much more cushion.

If you end up delivering earlier than 10-12 days then no amount of planning was going to help you anyway right (except maybe another month of BCP - which I don't suggest ).

I voted...stay on through the pack...it gives you the cushion you need so there won't be any arguing with the insurance company about if you conceived prior to July 1!

That is the question Michelle!! In the past when I stoped the pill I got af right away.. and my cycles were 28 days.. I never used OPK's I just went with my body.. having O pains around the 14-15. than bd around that day 5 days prior 5 days after... Thats how I got my last to BFP's. Now I have read that it can take two weeks longer to O after stoping b/c pill. But that is 6 month use or longer... I have only cycle... and I am on CD16 (really only 9 days on the pill) of that 28 day cycle... (28 days active pills and the 7 nonactive...)

So the questions that have to be considered..1) Will af show the days following stoping the pills?? 2) will I O on cd 14-15 like before... or O two weeks late......(or within the 2 weeks)

too many questions! if it helps at all, which it most likely doesn't -
I was on the pill for 7 years before I went off it last May... I wasn't using OPKs, but I had a 28 day cycle after that with O pains smack in the middle. Weird, because that was the shortest one I ever had in my whole life! I haven't O'd that early since! So I'm not sure it does take "longer..." at least, it didn't for me.

I voted to stay on until July 7th (even though I suggested the 4th). I think that if there is that much question I would wait until the 7th and be "safe". If you start AF right away you will be happy you waited until the 7th. If it takes longer you will just be giving youself a little more buffer. (same goes for the o'ing - if it takes longer it wiill just be giving you more of a buffer at the end).

I don't think it would delay your O if you're only taking the pill for 1 cycle. I did that when I was on my honeymoon and stopped right away and got pregnant the following month. Mind you I was much younger back then.
I would keep in mind the fact that you could be 2 weeks early and still be 'full term', even if it is really hard holding off from ttc.
I think waiting another week might be worth while.
