My doc told me we could TTC after one cycle. Well, I just got the injection of methotrexate on Friday...it should work in 7 days. So, I guess I will HOPEFULLY start my period in a couple weeks.
If the doc said wait one cycle to TTC.
How long is one cycle??
Can we start trying after AF shows in a few weeks? Or should we wait for the 2nd AF?
Just not sure...

Thanks!

It is a huge matter of personal choice and belief. Im not sure if you had a D & C or natural m/c, but after a D & C they 'scrap' you so thin often there is hardly any lining left, to make sure you dont get an infection.
I waited 1 cycle but should of waited 2 because me 1st period was hardly anything and my second was just like normal.
1 cycle normally is just one period in my mind and experience.
Good luck!!!

If your doc said to wait one cycle I would take that to mean that after your AF shows up you are good to go again. My doc said we didn't have to wait at all and that waiting was a good idea for emotional reasons (as well as being able to date the next pregnancy). However, I am not too sure if it changes in the case of an ectopic.

So sorry for your loss! Hope you get your BFP before your DH deploys!! (been lurking in TTC#1 for a while so I feel like I already know you.)

thank you so much everyone!!! I think once I get a normal AF (hopefully in a couple weeks) we will try after that.
If it happens before he deploys, GREAT, if not...we will just have to try when he returns home. Nothing I can do about it. I know it will happen one day!!

Sorry for your loss I had a D&C on the 22nd of May and my Dr said I could start ttc straight away if I was emotionally ready. He said if my body wasn't ready to fall pg it wouldn't. I only just finished my first AF which was extremely heavy and painful. I think your Dr means just to wait until AF arrives and then to start ttc. Good luck!

I waited one cycle - meaning I waited for AF to show up after my m/c and then we got busy!

I agree with everyone else. A cycle begins with AF and ends when you start your next AF. Just one word of caution: if you've had a shot of methotrexate, ask your doctor about taking extra folic acid. I'm sorry if you've already been told this, but methotrexate binds to folic acid and prevents you from absorbing it. I was on 4mg of folic acid after my tube ruptured in December (they originally tried to treat the ectopic with methotrexate) and I am still taking that amount. Good luck!
