Just curious...
I've heard you're more fertile after a m/c? Is this true?
Are you more likely to m/c again after having one m/c? I've heard different things. I heard it only increases your chances after 3 but my doctor told me there's an increased chance after just one.

My doctor told me the same thing too. He said its because your lining has to build itself back up again, plus you have been depleated of alot of vital nutrients even being pregnant for a short time. That would be his reasoning for waiting 3 cycles. There are alot of other doctors out there that say just the opposite. Some doctors feel that if your not ready to get pregnant than your body will not do so, thats why they say does not matter how long you wait. You just have to decided whats best for you. I personally waited until I had to cycles to start again, actively. The first month was just NTNP. There are alot of women who go on to get pg the first cycle, and have healthy babies. Its just a toss of the dice, so to speak.

There are so many things that factor into it. Your body will do what it needs to do. If you are ready to TTC, then try.
My friend who lost her son @ 40 weeks, was pg again within 3 months. Her first month of trying.

I think it all depends upon the person. My SIL had a natural miscarriage and got pregnant 3 weeks later, she's now 31 weeks and doing great. On the other hand, I had a D&C after my stillbirth and the doctor told me to wait at least 2 months so that the lining could build up.

We've already decided to start trying right away. I was just wondering if these things were true or not. Thanks!

Hello, I'm Keisha, Lurking from the Nov DDC. I'm not an expert, but just wanted to share my experience. I had an eptopic in July of 08 and it took us till Dec to get preggo again. I lost the second one at the end of Jan of this year. WE didn't have even one cycle after losing before we conceived this time. I'm now 22 wks and so far everything is good. I def agree that it just depends on each person's body. I hope you get your sticky bean soon. Keep your head up!!!

Hi Everyone! I have had 2 m/c in 6 months. The first pregnancy took us 4 months. But sadly ended 2 months later. After the first m/c (our doctor told us to wait until I had one normal cycle to try again) it took us 3 months to get preggers again, which ended just 5 weeks into it. I am not sure you are more fertile or not but I hope we are (it gives us more hope)!
Hope it all works out for you! I'll say prayers!

I have also heard that you are more fertile... I m/c in Nov... had a cycle in Dec and concieved again. I lost the hb at 7 1/2 weeks on Jan 29.. had my d/e on Feb 6th at 8 1/2 weeks. We will be going on cycle 5 (this last cycle we protected) And the cycle in May... We missed 2 days... so I don't agree with being more fertile.. It is when your body is ready... I can tell you this last cycle is the time my body has "felt" normal.. no constant pain... like the last 4 cycles... I hope your BFP come quickly

Well we conceived 16 days after a D&C, my OB said that once you have the D&C the HCG shuts down to zero and your body releases and egg. Unfortunately we lost that baby too, but I do not belive it was due to getting pregnant so quick, there were other factors.
So are you MORE fertile? No, but likely you will release an egg and hopefully can catch it if you want!

I have no idea, but our doctor told us to wait 3 months but I knew emotionally we were ready, and if I wasnt physically ready then it wouldnt happen. I did end up getting pregnant 2 weeks after my m/c at 4w5d... going on 8 weeks with fingers crossed this time. Hope you get your BFP.

i had a d and c at the end of may. we were told to wait until i had one cycle on my own, then we could ttc.
as far as if your chances for m/c increases after you've had one m/c... my doctor did tell me that i was at an increased risk for another loss. she didn't give a percentage, though.

It totally depends on your body. For myself, the m/c seems to have messed my body up. So I am releasing an egg and I know my lining is probably okay, but my cm sucks! It's probably due to the fact that I am older now maybe I would have problems getting pregnant anyway, even if we didn't have the m/c.
After my first m/c in March it took 3 months to get another BFP and I think using preeseed helped catch that egg. lost that one 1 week later....so perhaps my egg quality is no longer good. I have heard of a lot of ladies getting pregnant righ after their m/c. Good luck! I hope you are one of them!!!!

It's been almost 2 weeks since my m/c and we are ttc too. I had my m/c on Father's Day and it was tough. My dr told me to wait 3 cycles before ttc again, but I am being a rebel and trying anyway... mainly because the timing. I will just pray that God will help us thru this and we will not have to go thru another m/c. I have had two healthly pregnancies before (11 yr old and 9 yr old).
