Hey everyone, I had a D&E performed on July 2nd due to a miscarriage at 9+ weeks. I was released to resume all "activities" including sex the following Wednesday as the doc reported my cervix was closed. We wanted to wait until I stopped bleeding and he also was very caring about when I was emotionally up to intimacy again.

Last night everything was going nicely until he penetrated completely and I felt a really bad pain on my cervix. It felt like I was still badly bruised or something and it kind of killed the mood. He was so gentle and kind about it but I am sad that we can't really enjoy sex right now. Have any other women experienced this post D&E? How long until the pain went away?

OH, I am so sorry about what happened... I didn't have that kind of pain.. "TMI coming" I had god awful pains right at orgasm the first couple times after my d/e. It was like someone was stabing me in the uterus radiaing up to what felt like the ovaries...to my right side...

I would give a call to you dr if you are concerned... I am not sure if that is normal or not. HUGS

I had some cramps post D&C while/after BDing but nothing major. I might call your doc about it too just to check...

we waited a good 3-4 weeks post d and c (not because we were told to, but neither of us were really "there" yet). no pain, but again, probably because it was so long after.

i would definitely check with your dr. I had pain while bd'ing after my d&c but i think it was because we went at it too soon.

Some people have really sensitive cervix's. So it could just be that you are one of those people. Hormones do some funny things to our bodies. I am one of those people and it didn't start until years after starting to be active. I only have problems in certain positions. Sorry if TMI. It could just be your body needing to heal as well . I would check with your doctor but didn't want you to think it was completely strange.

Hun I had a D&C and we were allowed to start having sex after a week. Well we tried and it was very painful for the first 2-3 weeks. When I called the doctor about it she said that can be common for up to 2 months afterwards. Hope this helps.

We waited about a week to BD after our D&C but I never experienced any pain. I hope it eases soon, it's not like we need any extra obstacles in this stressful journey

This was really helpful information. I am thinking maybe my body hasn't returned completely back to normal yet and I need a bot more time. My husband is very understanding and says he is ready when I am ready. I am hoping I will be back to "normal" by the time I O again. <crosses fingers>
