I bought the cheapie OPK sticks off ebay an started using them today. Both lines came up very faint so I am a bit confused. Do I use another? Do the lines darken when you O? I tried one out the first cycle (when I got pregnant) and had the same confusing results. I had two fine lines but didn't BD until a week later and ended up conceiving. Can someone explain how the cheapie sticks work? Use small words and diagrams where necessary.

OPK's are very hard to use. If you got 2 lines thats good but the second line needs to be as dark if not darker than the first one. Once its dark it usually means you will O within 24-48 hours. Hope this helps and if you have any other questions please feel free to PM me!

Awesome! I thought that's how they worked but was unsure....the look so much like a pregnancy test but a different interpreting technique. If the second ine is faint does that mean that there is some LH production beginning?

I'm in the same boat as you! I took a test maybe 3 or 4 days ago and got a faint second line. I just decided not to use the tests again until AF comes back so that I can get a better estimate of when to start testing. I may have already O'd since my loss, so I don't know where I am in my cycle now. I took another test today and got another faint line, but it may have been a little darker than the one a few days ago. Who knows! I don't think I like these tests...

It does for me. I usually start taking them on day 10 & they will progressively get darker until the test line is as dark or darker than the control line. That's the + OPK that I'm looking for then it may stay postive for a day & then start going down to no line at all. And I always buy my OPK from Early Pregnancy Tests & have never had a problem with them & they're cheap too... Early Pregnancy Tests: hCG Pregnancy Midstream and Test Strips. I personally use the test strips rather than the mid-stream tests but that's just my preference. HTHs!

Those are the version that I use. They are so cheap I don't feel "guilty" if I try another just to compare. I guess I will be peeing on sticks for the next week or so and hope real hard the second line turns dark.
