So i think that i have started af yesterday, but it's really only 2 1/2 weeks after i stopped bleeding from my m/c is that normal? it's just really weird b/c it's really heavy (i normally only use 2 or 3 pads on a heavy day) today i've used 7 already and it's bright bright red! and i have terrible cramps and that is not normal for me either.... just wondering if anyone else noticed that af was different after you m/c or could this be that there is tissue left over...i didn't have a d&c

hmmm i didn't have that but it would be a bit of concern.. maybe best to check in with your gp about that one..especially with the heavy bleeding and intense cramping

I hope it all eases soon

It could be your bodies finishing everything since you didn't have a D&C. I would call the dr just to be sure. I think the first AF is supposed to show 4-6 weeks after as a general rule. I hope its nothing serious.

I would check in with your medical provider. However, I also didn't have a d&c, and a few weeks later went through all of this. Turned out...unfortunately...not pg, but ok. I hope it all ends asap. Love, Heather

This also happened to me. It was 4 days long and heavy. But I don't know if it was AF or not... 2 weeks after the m/c. I also had no D&C. Humph. I will be asking about this tomorrow at my follow up with my doctor tomorrow. I will share what she says.

I would check with your doctor. See if they could do a scan to make sure you passed everything. If not you could get an infection and it can make it harder if not impossible to conceive. Hope things go well for you hun. and KUP

I started my AF 3 weeks and 1 day from my m/c and I didn't have a d & c either... I can tell you, I almost took a pain pill that the dr prescribed for my m/c because the cramps were severe. I typically have bad cramps, but these felt like repeat m/c cramps. The flow is super heavy and bright red as well. I have heard that other people have really bad AF right after a m/c. So.... I am almost thru this one and I will be glad when AF is out the door so I can start BD as soon as possible!!!

Hope you feel better soon... and call the dr just in case it could be something else.

BTW- Did your dr track your HCG levels? My AF came one week after I tested zero. Blah!

I would call the dr.s just to make sure, but I did get AF 2-3 weeks post natural miscarriage (and I had really bad cramps and heavy AF).

From what I've read 2 weeks after a m/c isn't your AF but leftover tissue from your m/c. I'd call the Dr and let them know just to be safe. My AF didn't come for 34 days after my D&E, and after my natural m/c I got AF 30 days later.

This is what my doctor said. Extra lining etc from the uterus. Everyone is, of course, different.

I got AF 23 days after my m/c. It was heavier than normal (for me) and I had much worse cramping than usual too. (I had a natural m/c @ 10W)
