Alright fellow TTCAL pals... I am in need of help.

Some of this has already been asked but this is THE WEEK that I think has the biggest chance of conceiving, and I will only be able to TTC this month and next month (long story as to why, but mainly because of the birth months). So, it's very important that I get this right!

AF came in the form of very light spotting/light cramps on July 13. Full fledged AF came roaring in on July 15. My period usually lasts from start to finish 7 days (I still have the yucky end stuff right now, but light). My cycles usually last around 22-23 days give or take a day

I have the clear blue easy digital (happy face) Ovulation Kit. It has 7 testers. When do I start testing? When do I start DTD?? Do I DTD every day, twice a day, every other day???

Oh, and to complicate things, I am hoping for a girl... I have two wonderful boys that are the light of my life, but a girl in the house would be nice.

Please advise..... and thanks in advance

Ok so you have shorter cycles so I would start testing as soon as AF leaves. Second off if your DH's sperm count is okay then its fine to have sex every day multiple times a day. If it is low your should try to do it every other day to let it build up. And as for trying for a girl they say there is no proven fact but your supposed to have sex only 2 days prior to ovulation. HTH and I hope you catch that eggie!

well, the big question is, when do you ovulate! lol. do you o early, like around cd 10 or 11, or do you o around cd 14 and just have a short luteal phase? those questions are almost impossible to answer if you have not been charting/temping (i recommend everyone chart! i've learned so, so much about my cycle this way!)

do you ever notice any other fertility signs? cm is the biggest indicator for me. i "stalk" my toilet paper every time i go to the br! lol. i think if i were you, i'd start dtd on cd 9 and do it every other day (or every day if you have the energy) until cd 15. if you notice ewcm earlier than cd 9, start bding!

good luck! as far as the gender issue, i've copied and pasted from fertility friend:

To Get a Girl (According to Shettles):
  • Have intercourse 2-3 days before ovulation and avoid intercourse just before ovulation until 2 days after ovulation and when you have peak cervical fluid: The idea is that when you have sex a few days before ovulation, only the X-chromosome “girl sperm” will be left in the female reproductive tract waiting to fertilize the egg when it is released.
  • Have intercourse with shallow penetration: Shettles recommends “missionary position”or any position that will deposit the sperm slightly away from the cervix, giving advantage to the longer living, but slower X-chromosome-carrying sperm.
  • Women avoid orgasm: Shettles suggests women avoid orgasm because it makes the vaginal environment more alkaline, and less acidic and is disadvantageous to the X-chromosome “girl sperm”.
