Okay so DH & I were talking & the question came up... Is there a medical reason the dr doesn't want us to TTC immediately after our D&C (we were told to wait 3 cycles so I'm guessing around Oct)? If we were to get pg again lets say before my first AF arrives or even the cycle after AF, is there something that could be harmful to baby or myself by getting pg before the 3 cycle time limit? For example, maybe my lining isn't supple enough to support a pg or something's up with my cervix that needs those 3 cycles to heal BEFORE TTC thus I could m/c a lot easier next time around if I get pg before the 3 cycle time limit? Am I making sense?

I never really thoought that but my DH was wondering & now I'm wondering/concerned (since it is very possible I could be pg at the moment (I haven't had any symptoms I just know our timing around my O is good so it's possible)& I haven't even started my 1st AF since the m/c)!

Thanks so much in advance!!!

I didn't need a D&C, but our doctor said the soonest we can try is this September, as that's the soonest I'll be ovulating he thinks. I don't know my cycles real well. They're so unpredictable as it is.

My doctor told me to wait 3 and I asked why. He said to give your body time to get back on track and regulated again. Hormones and uterus. I have heard that some ladies get pregnant right away with no problems. I think some is the emotional side of it all and allowing you time to grieve. Good luck when you do start TTC.

Hi Amanda,

I would call your doctors office and ask why he suggested you wait 3 cycles. Every doctor is different with their decisions. My midwife said we could TTC after the first cycle, just to give my body a chance to heal but she said if we got pregnant right away their was no real harm in that either.

I have heard that some doctors suggest the wait to give yourself time to heal emotionally.

Your doctor knows you better than I do so I would call and see why he made that decision.

Keep us updated. ((Hugs)) I know the waiting game is hard.

My dr is big on the 3 cycle thing too. His reasoning was this, the vitamin deficiency that m/c causes, the lining is not ready, your hormones are not ready. All makes sense, but after careful thinking about this, DH and I agreed to one cycle.

And my reasoning, which is just as important as my dr.'s, was that if my body was ready it would get pregnant. If it was not, it would not get pregnant. Plus Im a big believe in God and feel that if it is my time, it is my time.

It has been 4 cycles for me now and I know its because my body was/is not ready yet. When it is, I will get pregnant. I just trust in God that when its my time, I will get my BFP. GOD I HOPE ITS THIS MONTH

Good luck to you and I hope you make the right descision for you.

Thanks ladies! Well, if I'm pg it's already too late, huh? Now I'm a bit worried but I guess it's all in God's hands now!

Honestly, I didn't think I could get pg on my own... that's why we didn't use protection. We've tried 3 years on our own & notta so I guess chances really are in my favor that I'm not. I had to use Clomid to even get pg b/c I have a progesterone defect which means my uterus never gets *ripe* enough naturally to allow implantation after O. But... like I have been talking with a few others through PMs, I only think I *might* be b/c I've had what could have been implantation cramping (same day momof4lopez posted about it ) & the next day I think I felt some fluttering of some sort down there but of course it could have been nothing too! And I've also started noticing my dreams... I have had dreams the past 4 nights in a row & I normally do not dream like that. Normally, if I dream I don't even remember dreaming. I may dream 2 nights in a row but don't ever remember dreaming like this except for when I was pg. I dreamed all the time when I was pg & this just reminds me of my dreams when I was pg. Oh, & I don't normally get ANY eps & last time you wouldn't even have known I was pg at all other than no AF so the fact that I'm noticing these things kinda has me thinking it could be a real possibility that I am. Well, if I'm not, according to DH we will be preventing any future surprises using the FAM method until Oct (when we can start trying again according to our dr).

We'll see! If I do get a BFP, I'll def let you guys know!

I really love that. Jeff and I switched to NTNP this cycle for a similar reason. In so many ways, we were ready, but in other ways, I knew that we would never feel ready. We decided that if it was meant to be, it would happen.

Amanda - Before Autumn, we honestly thought that we couldn't get pregnant naturally. We had stopped using protection 2 years before, and nothing for all that time. Then I got pregnant. After we lost Autumn, we weren't exactly great about using protection, but nothing happened for 4 months. I know that we weren't exactly trying, but I couldn't help wondering if I would ever be pregnant again, and how long it might take. Then this cycle, we started NTNP, and now baby Peanut is on the way

I hope you are pregnant! Sending you lots of bfp !!
