Hello Ladies! My name is Cheryl and I had my first (and hopefully last) loss on July 5th. I was about 8 weeks along and it would have been my second child. My doctor told us to wait one cycle and then we can try again. At times I am really excited to try and others am very anxious. So we'll see what happens when the time comes. I thought it would be nice to have people to talk who have gone through this (I am the first of my friends to have a loss) and pick your brains whenever I may have a question. I look forward to getting to know you all.

By the way, what should I expect for the first period? I have been PMSing for about a week (I think) and don't know what to expect. I am very afraid she is going to rage on me.

Thanks

Oops, I put the wrong month the first time! I'm on summer break and the months kind of blend together.

Hi hun -
Welcome to the board. I'm so sorry for your loss. The ladies on this board are great for answers to your questions, as well as just a shoulder to lean on when you need to vent. We all know where you are right now. I hope that you recover quickly, and get a BFP very soon!

As for your first AF, it will be different for everyone, but the usual time frame is 4-8 weeks after the miscarriage. Some people have very normal periods, some don't. For me, my first AF came 7 weeks after my losses, and they were very heavy periods. I was very anxious waiting for her to show up!

Welcome Cheryl. Like the others have said, this is a wonderful place to find support and advice in your TTCAL journey. So sorry to hear about your loss... I too had my 1st loss in June (Father's Day).

My AF has already come and gone... I was always one to have short cycles, so it didn't surprise me that it came 3 weeks after my m/c. I can tell you that mine was crampier than normal and heavy. It lasted a full week. I just got my + on my ovulation tests yesterday... so I think my body is back to normal and hopefully I will get a + on a HPT in a few weeks.

Good Luck!

I hate welcoming people to this group but only because I don't like thinking that others have had to endure this heartache.

My first loss was at 7 weeks (in March) and my first AF after was pretty wicked. It was much much heavier than normal and more cramping was felt. After that though they slowly got back to normal. Also my cycles were a bit longer for the first 3 cycles. They have also normalized now as well.

I am sure you will find the same great comfort in these ladies that I have. We are here if you ever need us!

Welcome although I wish you didn't have to be here . So nice to meet you though . My AF came about 4 weeks after my D&C. I was a little past 13 weeks so I opted for that rather than labor. Mine were and still are heavy but that is due to another issue so I don't know that I am much help LOL. Well I guess I should stop while I am ahead. Welcome and feel free to jump in and chat I did.

Welcome to the board, and Im so sorry for the loss of your second little one
I had my loss in April, found out on April Fools Day that the baby's heart had stopped beating, what a horrible not so joke.

I got my first Af, 1wk after the d&c, confirmed by my Dr., then 3 wks later. Both were extremly light, due to no time for the lining to build. My 3rd cycle, which I actually count as number 2, was extremlely heavy, clotty(sorry tmi) and long. This was a normal 29 days though from the second to the third. I only count it as my second becaue the first two were so light and abnormal. I did however bleed for over 5 days with those two. I have finally got back to normal, but my cycles are no longer 28 days like prior to m/c. They have now been 23 for the last two cycles, charting an actual "o". My lutel phase is 12 days now, and was probably 14 days prior to m/c. But still in range for normal.

I hope you bounce back quickly and do not suffer any more than you already have.
