So how many of you cut it out and how many wait til you get a BFP?

When I learned I was pregnant, I cut all caffeine out and continued without it until m/c and AF came.... now I have gone back to soda's with caffeine (diet)....

BUT, since I am officially to the ovulation stage, should I cut it back out? Or am I good til I test?

I've read that up to 2 cups of coffee a day is fine.

I drank 1 cup a day, black, this entire cycle, and I'm going to continue that when I feel up to it. I just had lunch, and I'm feeling nauseous, so I think coffee is out for today!

I don't cut it out at all. 150mg per day is considered safe. So I try to stay under that once I've ovulated.

I cut it out completely when I was pregnant. After my loss, I enjoy the occassional diet soda. I am not a coffee drinker so my caffeine intake is pretty low.

I quit drinking coffee all together when I got my I was completely addicted to it, so will only go back to drinking occasionally...maybe just on holidays??

or weekends...

I have wondered the same thing...it's so hard for me to cut it out completely. I am really obsessive about not taking any medications and I don't drink alcohol while ttc but when you're tired it's so hard to say no to caffeine.

I drank one Dr. Pepper each day through my first two pregnancies and had an either a Dr. Pepper or Iced Mocha with my last pregnancies. I don't do well without some caffine "oh the pain" of the headache. I did start trying to go decaff to cut down and was heading towards cutting it out completely. I am thinking about cutting it out for my next pregnancy but we will see how my will power is. Either way I have two earth babies who had caffine while in the womb and they are totally normal..... Well ya know what I mean.

So I think I cut out the caffiene with the first baby (17yrs. ago), but I was sick to stomache with coffee, so it made it a bit easier. I drink quite a bit of diet coke though, proably 1-2 cans a day.

2-4 babies, well lets just say that God looked over me, cause I drank probably 1 pot of coffee a day, plus diet coke!

I do however feel very different this time around. Im much wiser and intuned to today's health awareness of the me and the baby. I will go decaf on both when I see the BFP, and not take any more chances. I did however drink gallons of water with all the pregnancy's, but that was probably due to the dehydration that coffee/soda caused

Thanks for all the responses...

I switched to decaf when I found out I was pregnant in June... but instead of going cold turkey on the caffeine, I mixed 2 decaf tea bags with 1 reg... and then I mixed a can of decaf coffee with the 1/2 caf coffee (does that make sense?).

My only problem is my occasional need for a soda. I can only do so many sprites, lol. I love Dr. Pepper (diet) and so I was just curious about everyone elses views on it. I know that I don't drink enough to put me in the "dangerous" levels... but after experiencing a m/c, I tend to over analyze everything I do/did. I read that caffeine can be a factor in m/c's...

So... Thanks again for the responses. I think since right now I am in the 2ww, I am ok to have a little bit.
